GHETTO LIVING
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 12/29/2003
Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2003
I lived in Lamplighter park for 6 months. In that time, I experienced a domestic violence situation with my roommate. The manager offered for me to break my lease, free and clear with no penalty as I no longer felt safe. I agreed, but now have $1000 sitting at collections. What a thing to do to a girl who was almost killed!! Especailly when the "24-hour security guard" was sleeping in his car in the parking lot. I had many problems with my apartment when I lived there, and they were never fixed properly or on time. I went without a working toilet for more than a week. I lived in the "E" building, and my friend lived in the "C" building. I had to walk all the way over to his apartment to go to the bathroom. I mentioned this to the manager, and she told me that they had a lot of problems and were tending to them as soon as possible. Well, when I got up in the morning to go to work and stepped outside, I saw the head maintenance guy drinking a beer and smoking a joint. I told the manager, Cherie, and she basically called me a liar. So while I am running across the property to pee, the man who is supposed to fix my toilet is drinking and getting high. Not to mention out in the open, in the morning. How classy. Oh, and the pool' What a joke! It was always freezing or full of sludge and leaves. And the hottub' It was either colder than the pool, or so hot that after 5 minutes in it, you would come out with bright red skin. We invested in a bucket to dump the cold pool water in to the boiling hottub. I mean, they charge you so much in rent for the "amenities", why not try to enjoy them' I would NEVER reccomend this place to ANYONE, not even my worst enemy!! The managers are -------. Pam and Cherie. Cherie will tell you that you can pull up to the "loading zone" to unload your vehicles at the time of move in, and 20 seconds later, Pam will arrive telling you that you are in a fire zone and that she is calling the cops. Talk about a warm welcome. The noise is constant and unavoidable, the smell is awful and disgusting. I was embarrassed whenever I had guests because of the nasty grounds that were never kept, and the smell of the buildings. I never felt safe at that complex because of the drunken maintenance men that lived on the grounds (it makes you wonder why it was so hard for them to fix things on time!!) There are many other apartment options in Bellevue and I would reccomend checking those out. Don't let the nice location and "indescribable amenities" fool you. I should have known from day one not to have invested any money into that place. I wasn't even able to see my apartment until after I had signed the lease and paid for it. If you like the living style in "The Ghetto", than this is the place for you. If you have some class and want to feel at home, DON'T LIVE AT LAMPLIGHTER PARK!! I hope that no one is sitting in their newly rented apartment at Lamplighter Park reading this and pulling their hair out. If you are, I am truely sorry that I didn't submit this earlier.
