particulars:
construction across the street started almost immediately after we decided to move in and was not informed of this (i.e. warned) that the jackhammering and excessive dust-producing machinery would commence from 6am until 6pm EVERYDAY (yes, even sunday).

out of curiosity, i price checked other apartments within a mile of this place and found out we were GROSSLY overcharged for the demographics.

granted, our place is a 2 bd/2 ba and has a great layout, though we have a problem with closet space, elevator wait times, and street noise. also worth mentioning is the fact that recycling is a laborious task in this complex, as well as laugh-out-loud teeny tiny parking spaces (and i own a miata!) that you can spend 30 minutes attempting to park within said lines. for the chef of the family, the millwork in the kitchen is nice on the outside, but the way the doors swing open is quite illogical and inconsistent; thus pulling at the wrong end of a handle-less door might become too much of a time sucker. nit picking' why, heck yes. after all, we're paying for the right to feel comfortable with our dwellings, no'

the bottom line is that we would rather pay close to $2000/month for something more than a place with dwarfish parking spaces, plumbing with poor water pressure, no utilities included, incredibly loud street noise, no impressive view whatsoever, thin walls, and kitchen millwork that would stump einstein.
