So there are pros and cons to this place.

The pro--it's cheap and it's at a great location. Staff are nice, well, 2 of them really.

The cons--it's old, not sound proof, very noisy, grounds shake when people walk, and strange smokey smell.

My husband and I use to live in a high rise so it was much quieter there since the apt complex was built like a condo. At Oakwoods, it's quite noisy. I can hear the upstairs people sometimes. When they walk, it will sometimes make our apt shake. When people in the halls slam their door, it will make our apt shake. I can also hear all the construction noise outside. I also hear weird tapping noises from the wall, and it wakes me up all the time. Not really sure where the tapping noises come from. But the most annoying thing is this odd smokey smell. It happens every night around 10-11am, and we can't figure out where it is coming from. It seems to be coming from the microwave vent. We have spoken with management about it, and they've had their technicians look at it, but it still hasn't been fixed. I can deal with the noises and the ground shaking, but I really hate the smokey smell.

But you get what you pay for. Rent is around $1050 and that includes water and sewer and garbage. All you have to do is pay for electricity and cable/internet. Also, there is a $200 cleaning fee. It's quite a hefty fee considering how old this place is. So if none of the above will bother you and you like the price, then this would be a decent place for you. Otherwise, go elsewhere.
