Looks can be deceiving...

Where do I begin...
We moved here six months ago and needed an apartment rather quickly. The Park management was helpful and we were able to move in quickly on short notice.
We moved into one of their two bedroom, two bath units on the bottom floor. The place looked spacious and well constructed. Unfortunately, only after living there for a few days did we realize our mistake.
Yes, the apartment was spacious. Huge master bedroom with a large walk-in closet and double sink master bathroom. The second bedroom and bath were a decent size.
Problems. The rooms are large but the layout is all wrong. For instance, in the living room there is a fireplace...except there is no way (believe me, we tried everything) to arrange your furnature to NOT have one piece of it block the fireplace!! The master bathroom has two sinks but its not at all convenient to actually have two people in there at the same time. There are these huge cabinets in the bathroom...but no shelving so unless you go to the local lumber yard and fashion yourself some shelves, they are a major waste of space.
The appliances are completely outdated. Our stove looks like its been through a war, no pot could possibly sit properly on any of the burners. Each burner has two temperatures - high and off. Whirlpool doesn't make the brand of mustard yellow washer and dryer units that are in the apartment anymore. You have to spin your clothes three times to keep them from being sopping wet when you pull them out of the washer. The garbage disposal is useless. I've lived in several apartments and know what NOT to put in a disposal...this one wouldn't even take the stuff that you CAN put down them. We had to call for them to fix it about ten times in the six months we lived there. I have the repair slips to prove it.
There is NO light in the bottom floor apartment. None! My husband and I took to calling it "the cave". Its always cold and when you do turn on the heat, (we kept it no higher than about 65 the entire time we were there) the electric bill is well over $100...of course this may be due in part to teh fact that you have to run the dryer for extended periods to dry your sopping wet clothes!
There is absolutely no storage space. There is a tiny storage closet on the non-patio (no room for a chair or a grill) where the space is mostly taken up by the water heater.
The shelves in the kitches and closets are huge but not at all functional. If you put a can wwaaaaayyyy in the back you'll never find it again. The shelves are rather high as well so to reach anything on the top shelves you need a (tall) foot stool or an NBA allstar husband.
The water pressure is terrible and don't even think of touching the faucet while someone is showering or you'll have to take them to the hospital for third degree burns. Water takes a long time to get hot too.
The apartment is really noisy. The walls are paper thin, you can hear the neighbors on both sides and above you, and the traffice outside...not to mention the heard of children that are constantly playing in the driveway out front. The parents apparently do not care what the children do because they bounce balls and themselves occasionally off of the cars parked out front. They are LOUD and no one does anything about the noise level.
Very inconvenient to move into/out of. The driveways are small so loading and unloading from a truck bigger than about a 15 footer is difficult. Big island in the middle of the driveway entrance makes it hard to turn in and out of with a uhaul. Truck blocks the entire driveway so no one can get around you so you constantly have to move the truck while you are trying to load/unload!
The car ports are ridiculously small. We have a small jeep and could hardly open our doors and not hit the cars parked next to us. Guest parking is few and far, very far, between if you can even find an extra space.
No gym facilities. The pool is the size of a bathtub and there are only about 10 chairs in the pool area. When the screaming kids aren't in the driveway they are in the pool.
No security/locks on the mailboxes...anyone can open your mailbox. Office hours are from 9am to 5pm (and they typically leave earlier than 5)...so how exactly are you supposed to pick up a package when most people work from 8am-5pm' Half the time the USPS guy couldn't even leave our packages because no one was in the office during their hours!
This apartment complex is not at all worth the money they want for the apartments. Not at all!! We moved after six months and are happy to be out of there. We got a special movein rate...some special. New management is upping the rates (yep, you still pay for water, sewer and garbage) and our experience on move-out with them was worse than with the old management. Poor bookkeeping and poor transition from the old management equals trouble.
Look elsewhere...
