The Bellevue rental market has strengthened in the last 6 months as has many other markets in the Seattle area. For the last 5 years owners have given away huge concessions while still having to pay rising costs of utilities and maintenance to keep the properties running smoothly and providing a quality home for residents. While $200 is a bit steep, you must consider that it's not just this property raising rents, the whole area has increased rents. While it would be nice to keep everyones rents below market, as a business, you need to make ends meet and finally the market is allowing owners to do that.
Be thankful that the economy is getting better and while that means higher rents, it also means more jobs in the area and stronger companies to keep you employed.
As for the fees, we don't hide anything. If how the water/garbage fees are divided is important to you than you should have asked. Same with the month-to-month fees. We try to cover as much information with the prospective tenant before the application process even begins but it's impossible to hit every detail. If something is important to you, ASK FIRST.
As for the parking, it is a little tight at night but there's always somewhere to park. We're not that big of a community so even if you have to park a few buildings away it's a pretty short distance and oh, don't forget, IT'S FREE. A lot of downtown Bellevue communities charge for parking.
Lastly, the small fee for using the clubhouse. You should call around to the other communities (as we did before implimenting a fee) and find out how much they charge for using their clubhouses after hours.
