Poor Service and Smells of Smoke

I moved to Washington in late 2007 and needed to find an apartment within a week. Initially this apartment complex looked nice and was close to downtown Bellevue. Although the rent is fairly high, they were offering a pretty decent incentive to sign a year lease. Soon after moving in, I started to notice the smell of smoke (we are non-smokers). It became apparent that the smoke was coming from the heating vents. So that is one thing that we don't like here.

The other thing that was mentioned by other reviews is parking. If you have more then one car or have guests, they can often times find themselves parking in the far back corner and walking a good distance to get to your place.

Lastly, I have a parking spot near the dumpster. Someone opened the door right into my car leaving a pretty significant mark. Although it may be debated that this isn't the responsibility of the apartment complex, the manager took almost a week to contact me regarding it. I suggested that they put in some sort of block or other way to prevent these big metal doors from swinging completely open, which she shrugged off. To top it off, she offered absolutely no apology or showed any apathy regarding the situation which could have easily been done by one of her employees.

With the issues stated, I would not recommend this apartment complex as a place to rent from.

** Summary **

Pluses: Close to downtown Bellevue, nice landscaping.
Minuses: Poor responses to issues, high heating bills and shared ventalation causing
smoke into apartments sharing the system with units with a smoker.

Yes, so true! I would joke with friends that the distant open parking spots allowed for a good workout. They ended up taking advantage of us when we moved out and essentially charged us to ready the place for the new tenants. Is anyone up for a class action lawsuit?
