They are sending huge penalties which you wouldn't have thougt of. They are finding fault at anything and everything and minting money like crazy. We were charged for cleaning expenses on an old carpet and just recently I visited the same apartment and found that there was new carpet laid out. This is outrageous!!! Stay away Friends!!!!

With regard to all move out charges, Piedmont is consistent in considering normal wear and tear on any unit and not charging at all for those issues. The main discrepancy we run into here at Piedmont is that many of our residents do not understand the difference between actual damage and normal wear and tear. While we do try to explain the differences, and even when opinions differ, Piedmont uses a standard move-out charge based upon the condition of the apartment at move out. We also supply all former residents a copy of the move out inspection with all details in regards to the condition of the apartment at the time of move in, move-out and all the charge details. With regards to cleaning and replacing carpet, we do not charge to clean the carpet if we replace it in any unit. In addition, we only charge to replace carpet when the carpet is damaged beyond the normal level of wear and tear.

what do you expect for a place 9 out of 10 people don't recommend?

I am a current resident here at Piedmont and moved into another apartment in Piedmont and was only charged for a standard cleaning for carpet. My carpet was old but we never had stains or anything on the carpet. Maybe you stained the carpet and if the stain was too large then and the carpet has to be replaced, then you would get a charge.
