Ok Place but staff can be rude and you can hear all of your neighbors

The apartments are over priced because of the location. The walls are so thin you can hear people talking in other apartments but especially the hallway. Most bedroom areas of the apartments ajoin the hallway so if there are any noisy children on your floor (there were on mine) it will bother you when they run screaming up and down the hallways. Not to mention your downstairs neighbors pounding on your floor when you are walking in socks (and I am not a heavy walker, never had a problem in the other apts I lived in.)
The maintenance staff has changed so many times in the past few yrs that you can't remember who is taking care of things this week, but the people they do put into the positions get the work done even if it is at their leasure. One guy in particular lied to at least 2 of my room mates about the elevator being broken. I came in and found it broken and told him and then 2 of my room mates came in with the hour and told him as well and his response to all 3 of us was "oh this is the first I am hearing of that." He is gone now so hopefully the next person will be more compitent.
The manager Ally is mediocre. She gets the minimum of the job done but is not very pleasant. When I first moved in she was a much nicer person but in the past yr she has become quite grumpy.
Overall it is not a horrible place but it is not ideal by any means.

Did you ever notify the office about the noise? I have found that when noise isn't reported things aren't done as effectively if at all than when noise isn't reported. Even if it's the hallway noise from passers by. Fortunately, it sounds like you were in a building that had controlled access, interior entrances to apts. I would gladly put up with hallway noise over the numerous soliciters that come to my door, having exterior apt entrances.

This is true; the building has serious noise problems. I have spoken with the staff and they are helpful, but do not acknowledge the source of the problem, which is the building's construction. There is nothing they can do about it. Both the floors and the walls are extremely thin. They have the thickness and sound properties of the top side of a bongo drum. I can hear both neighbors. The person underneath my thinks I am deliberately trying to drive him insane when I just try to walk into the apartment. I have had on occasion to threaten to call the police in order to get him to leave me alone.
The price is good for the area, and the parking is fine if you have a small car. Most people in the building seem to be young, and most seem to be nice -- except, unfortunately, for the person who lives directly under me. If you move in, pray for a forgiving neighbor underneath you.

I have lived here for 6 months and am impressed by the quietness, so I'm surprised to hear these comments. I do have neighbors on all sides of me; I only know this because I have either seen them walk in their front door or heard the occasional boom of something dropping on a floor - a noise I have learned to expect when living in an apartment building. I have lived in 30 places around the country, mostly apartments due to my lifestyle, and this is one of the quietest places I have lived.
