First off, don't let them rent you unit C6. It has a serious mold and mildew problem, probably from being under trees and lower than ground level on one side. Running the bathroom fan does nothing to help. I lived there 2 years.

I would echo what the first poster said about the property. All of those points listed are true. I would add some additional cautions:

Disregard the free water in calculating comparative costs, as you're paying that right back at the laundry facility--and who wouldn't rather have laundry in-situ' I don't think I'd pay over $625 tops to live there, if I had to do so again. The complete lack of amenities gets to be a bummer after awhile; I wouldn't count a sometimes open, sometimes banned (vandalism) midget fitness room and a misplaced basketball hoop (right next to parked cars) amenities as much as irritations.

There were 3 different managers (everyone's a manager when there's only one person on the staff) while we were there. The current one says she's temporary, and keeps odd hours (10-3') and is there 2-3 days a week. I'd characterize her as fair though, as we were not unhappy with how much of our deposit was returned.

The complex's location sucks for everything but BCC. It's 15 minutes to I-405 no matter if you take 8th, I-90, or 520. The median on 148th makes getting in and out of the complex annoying as well.

I never saw a problem with crime, other than once a beater that had sat in the same spot for months had a window busted in. I didn't have anything worth stealing, though. The complex is quiet, and is mostly clean. There's litter on the south end from the traffic between the churches and the 7-Eleven. Road noise on the east side is pretty much constant, and starts up 6 a.m.

Overall, I can't recommend living here except as a BCC student. It's depressing, and better deals can be had for not many more dollars. The only thing keeping me from classifying it as ghetto is the apparent lack of crime and noise. If anything, this apartment has taught me the worth of paying a little extra for a better place to live.

Incidentally, I just found out the Jan 2004 review was done by my wife. So I think the two together provide a accurate assessment of the property.
