What's the real deal about Valencia Apartments'

Hello,
I'm a dad helping my son and another young man find an apartment. They're both working and going to Bellevue Community College. Their budget tops out at $1,300 a month rent.
They like the Valencia.
But they've never rented before. I'm concerned about what I've been reading here. The negative comments can't help but stand out.
And I'm concerned about the truthfulness of the positive comments, as one poster said the positive comments are posted anonymously by the management.
Are there any current tenants who could tell me what the real deal is about this place'
Thanks!

Former resident here. Moved out nearly a year ago. I was pretty negative in my review of the place. Bottom line, it is not that bad if it is temporary. Few apartment living experience end well. Biggest issue I had is really with the continued rent increases every time the lease expired. That practice apparently has not changed. The rest of my gripes would not have been that hard to overlook had they been more considerate with rent increases. However, when they start making you take a harder look in your wallet you start expecting more and they don't have the "more" to offer. Full security deposit was refunded, mind you I did spend nearly an entire weekend cleaning and making sure I left it as close as possible to how i got it minus normal wear & tear.

I agree.. Im not a resident, but my boyfriend is and i think its a horrible place to live.
He got stuck living in an apartment that should only cost 800 a month and due to rent increases costs 1,200!!( hes only lived there 2 years) It would be fine if there was something to have a reason to up to price.. I mean.. his appliances dont match.. the carpets are coming up.. the water isn't even clear!! the walls are paper thin, every time the guy upstairs walks around you can hear it..you hear people screaming every morning around 7am! Strange beeping and construction noises at 7:00 am and earlier! It's horrible, but his lease it almost up, thank god.In addition to 1,200 two bedroom thats not been "remodeled" he has to pay 30 bucks to park under the carport. If I were him I would have bought out of the lease months ago..but frankly, he can't afford it.
My advice: Tell your son and his friend they can find a WAY better place to live especially with a budget like 1,300!! A place that they will want to live, and not make the wrong decision!
Anyways, I would tell him to go elsewhere!

I like living at Valencia. It is overall peaceful and quiet. The office gals are very friendly and have helped me whenever things break in my apartment. The grounds are parklike and kept really clean, despite the constant cigarette butts people throw down. The maintenance keeps everything picked up. The pools are now open and they are very clean and heated, which I love. I plan to live here for a long time, as rent is affordable.

I like living at Valencia too. I have been here over a year now and have an apartment by one of the pools. I'm on the first floor and my patio is like looking out a park. Lots of trees, plants and very peaceful. During the winter the pool has a beautiful fountain floating in it which creates a waterfall atmosphere. Being on the 1st floor, I thought I would here the people upstairs alot, as the last place I lived you could here typical noises that come with living in an apartment. But here, I rarely hear them. I don't know if it is because they are gone alot or what. But I really like it here. Being a single female, I've never felt unsafe at Valencia and the location is great, close to everything but not in the heart of Bellevue. I plan to stay here quite a while longer. I know several BCC students that live here and I've never heard any complaints. However, I've never really talked to them about how they liked living here, so who knows. I would recommend this place, however! Apartment living is never perfect no matter where you go... And I am paying a fair price for my apartment. I would suggest calling around and looking at what other places are renting for. That's what I did prior to moving in and I found Valencia to be right in there with the rest of them.

i wouldn't move here we've been here a short period of time and have had many complains with the stuff ( the workers ) not the ladies it just seems like there is a lot of turn over in tenants here and it must be for a reason, and the manager has friends on the property so if you see people acting a fool and nothing being done well when you have friends in management everything is ok...had my car towed in less then 24hrs for no real reason but that i didn't have the valencia tag on it .... DON'T move here they will end up moving out in a year like us... already looking to move else where.
