Ghetto and you won't get your deposit back

I only lived in the Valencia apartments for around 6 months and witnessed two police lock downs and had my stoned neighbor's friends try to get into my apartment at 3 a.m. My heating bill was over $100/month because the place could not retain heat and my windows started growing mold because of moisture problems in the building. The gym constantly reeks of pot and there is a lovely gang of men that hang outside the workout center to make lewd comments when you walk by. On top of all that, I got $0 back from my deposit and was taken to collections to pay ridiculous cleaning charges of over $100, without notice. Also, the apartment complex down the street was raided a few years back for housing an underage Asian brothel.

Wow. So what exactly do you plan to accomplish by this review huh? Just cause you never got your money back. Your that person huh? Maybe you should take better care of your apartments in future. And WHAT- may I ask- does your last sentence have to do with Valencia? We have great security here. I've filed noise complaints once or twice and they've been dealt with within a 20min time span. I got my full refund when I transfered apartments and I've have teenage kids do silly things like that before, but its easily overlooked. I've never smelled pot using the work out room and My last power bill was $66. So clearly you a little abnormal with your electricity. I love this place and I've been here for almost a year. I love the staff the pools and my place :)

I totally agree that this place is terrible. I have lived here for about 6 months as well. I know for a fact that my neighbors to the right are selling drugs and my neighbors to the left are here illegally (they even told me!). It seems like noone speaks English here and I have seen firsthand where some of these 1 bedrooms are stuffed with 7 or 8 people. In turn, there is absolutley no parking!! Also, as far as the heating goes.. it is ridiculous.. I paid over $150 per month for the winter months.. I have also had to replace at least 20 light bulbs in the kitchen.. Oh yeah and the dishwasher has never worked!!
So.. if you want to get ripped off, learn some new languages and live like a bum... Valencia is all you!!

It sounds like the first responder to this review works for the apartment. What does the reviewer hope to accomplish? He/she wants to save people from the torment of living here, that's what! I didn't get my deposit back and I have always received my deposit back in my long history of renting. In fact, I had to pay them $100 dollars for a small stain on the floor. I thought it was excessive to have to lose a deposit and pay extra over this, however I took responsibility paid the bill promptly. However, three months later, I get a call from collections stating that Valencia had reported that I owed them money. The collector even called my boss on the same day to complain about me. I work in a hospital and couldn't get a break to call him immediately. I had to fax bank statements to the collector to prove that the bill had been paid a long time ago. And the office staff at Valencia was not helpful at all in helping me solve this matter. These guys are so unorganized and unprofessional.
