I lived in a 1 bd unit for 3 yrs. Always paid on time and kept the place kept up. I had no pets or kids.
I recently moved out of state. I did my move out cleaning and even hired a maid for a couple of hours to scrub good. They turned around and charged $700!! Which was totally outrageous. I know not to ever expect a security deposit back, but this was terrible.
While there the noisy neighbors partying and street noise were bad. And the parking was ridiculous. Forget about it if you wanted company over.
I was extremly disappointed and wouldn't recommend. The convenience of being downtown isn't worth it.

I had the exact same problem. When moving out, forget your deposit..they also charge you extra. I would not recommend this to anyone either

Verona is now under new management; we are aware of these issues and have replaced all previous staff members. Always refer to your lease agreement when making the decision to vacate your home, it'll tell you everything you need to know or simply stop in, we're here 7-days a week.

To ashleybolt22, you mentioned there's a new management..so does the "Anonymous" person who commented above getting her $700 back if she was forced to pay that?!! I am looking for an apartment myself & I often pass by Verona when I head to the Bellevue Regional Library. Even though there's new management, I'm won't even consider Verona!!

Just to comment. I am the original poster of this message. I read over my lease agreement-carefully. And I did everything it outlined and more. I moved across the state and I came back 2x to ensure I had done a good job. But I guess it was all for nothing.

This is not true, even the new management charges are outrageous. When I moved in the carpet was in bad condition, I noted down in the move in checklist. They agreed to it. Guess what when I moved out they charged me outrageously. they said they have to do deep cleaning etc... So the deep cleaning is 150$ and some nail marks 125$ etc.... This happened last month. So I dont beleive the new management theory. I read the fine print and it doesn't say I should pay for the damages made by the previous tenant. Parking is really bad for guests. Its almost impossible to find parking on the road in the weekend. You pay 55 dollars every month for parking, which sometimes is occupied by some tenants guest or management allotted to some one else by mistake. I lived in this area for 6 years in 5 different apartments and I always keep clean and never have to pay this much. Pros: Cheaper than the rest of the apartments in downtown.

Once again Verona is under new management. AvalonBay purchased Verona on May 8, 2009. The new staff seems very helpful, genuinly seems to want to fix the problems going on. I have a parking space that is never open for me to park in. I spoke with both Chris and Kristy and they said the parking program is the first thing to be fixed. As of June 1st all residents will get a parking permit for their reserved parking space. It seemed they have a lot of parking spaces to straighten out. NOt sure what is going to happen with the multiple people assigned to one space. Let's see if they can really fix this place.
