Oh my goodness!!! The VERY first day I moved in I could NOT wait to move out!!! I was in need of a place ASAP and it seemed decent enough! However, my assumption was quickly turned down when I had to use the elevater to the third floor to move in. When we had originally checked this place out they conviniently took us up the back stairs to our apt which was located at the end of a hall way. By doing this we didn't have to take the pee'd on carpeted walls of the elevater. DISGUSTING!!!! And the floor was ALWAYS sticky! Everytime I "had" to take it (Single Mom with hands full of groceries, laundry, whatever, and son in toe) It smelled so AWEFUL I about threw up several times. Most times my son and I would have a contest to see if we could jsut hold our breath the entire ride up!! The mold was a HUGE problem in our apt!! I had black mold growing all over the place and they would just paint over it! Also told me that black mold is the "renters problem" and they do not have to take care of that for you. There was mold growing on my ceiling and around the window in the bedroom. When I had them "take care of" the mold on the ceiling they painted a product on it. When I told them I have done my research and know that that only lasts for a short period of time and I will be calling them in again to have it redone he looked at me snotty and said, "well, your the customer so I guess you're right". I wanted to kick him out of my place right then and there!! I had a concern with the tiles in the spare bath starting to "bubble" out and away from the surface. I made them replace the tiles and made sure I was there during the gutting and replacement of tiles. You should have seen all the black mold growing. They tried to tell me it was just wet wall board and it turns that color! Then he put more tile right over the top of it. My son, roomate, and I , otherwise VERY VERY healthy, have NEVER had som any colds and flu like symptoms in a 7 month period!!! The smells down the hallways were DISGUSTING!!! NO VETILATION!! Nothing against the ethnic foods cooked there ( I LOVE Indian, Mexican, and other ethinic type foods) but ALL of the smells put together and enclosed in the hallways was HORRID!! The smell would even come into the apt at times!!! I was told stories by neighbors about countless numbers of throwup seen in the carpet. I encountered underage kids in the hallway hanging out on the stairs drinking. My shower head was spraying out over the top of the curtain EVERY time I took a shower and getting the entire floor soaked! The hot water went out SUPER fast, about 7 minutes! I complained about this SEVERAL times and they just kept telling me that was normal. I knew it WASN'T normal and FINALLY when they redid the tile and took apart the shower head (to be sure I wouldn't use it for SEVEN days!!) they "noticed" that the rubber gasket was missing and I had to wait even longer to get this part in. As soon as the part was replaced the spraying out over the top of the shower stopped and I ALWAYS had hot water for the duration of my shower. Our electricity was a HUGE CONCERN! Everytime we plugged something in it would create a HUGE spark and shock the dickens out of us! I made them replace all but do wonder if there is not some kind of electrical problem. In one bathroom everytime something was pluged in it would blow fuses!! There was a fire in one of the eletrical boxes outside on e day when I came home to firengines. Our electric bill shot up to $256 shortly after moving in!! I'll bet that part of that high bill is because of the gasket problem in the shower! The tank had to keep trying to reheat for hot water!! I pay $16 a month for electricity where I am now!!! It was constantly noisy and I heard gun shots in the parking lot at least 3 seperate occasions. It was ALWAYS noisy well into the night in the parking lot! Kids drinking and smoking. There was a VERY noicy light that BUZZED all night klong right outside my window. I asked many times to have that looked at. I bet it's still buzzin' away! I would NEVER recommend this place to ANYONE!!! STAY AWAY!!!! A comment was made to me by one of the staff members that turned my stomach. When I asked if they get jsut as many phone calls from other tenants they said to me, "most are not from "here" and they just live with the conditions. They don't care as much". It's like they know there is a big challenge with this place but turn their head because the "other" people don't care.

If your having that many problems you must be doing something wrong. Whether you need to adjust the shower head so it doesn't spray over the top, or you overload the electrical sockets with too many plugs (hence the sparking) the "mold" you say you have, all of it is your fault, not the apartments. You have mold, turn on the bathroom fan. as for those "other people that dont care" I happen to be one of those other people. I have lived here for nearly a year, and perhaps there is a problem with the elevators, I cant relate since my unit doesn't have them, but I mean the other problems? Human problems, aka you. My lease is nearly up, and I am moving out. I cant afford it anymore, so I am finding a place I can afford, and thats the ONLY reason I'm moving out. My power is fine, water is fine, noise is fine, and whatever else you can come up with, well my bathtub is rather old and peeling but it happens. You just deal with it. as for the "gun shots" I have heard nothing. Perhaps thats because I live in woodland commons rather then foothills, but I am comfortable walking from my apartment, to the office, and back. AT NIGHT!. No crime, no gangs, no gun shots, no problems at all, with the exception of the 5 Hispanic guys who used to live above me and would blare music all the time and I swear were playing basketball or something up there. But I was okay with it cause they did it during the day and they were quiet at night. Again it could be because I live in WOODLAND COMMONS and not FOOTHILL COMMONS which has the elevators, the other stuff I have had no problems with.

It wasn't a shower head adjustment!!! I tried adjusting it... After several calls to maintenance they FINALLY fixed the problem by taking the head off and finding that it DIDN'T have a gasket in place!! It would have been nice if they would have inspected that the first week I was living there as apposed to months later!!! I never stopped insisting something was wrong! They had to order it and it took three days before they put it in so I could use the shower again. I put in notice after notice and my power bill was over the top! When that was finally fixed I NEVER ran out of hot water and my power bill dropped. The mold... NOT MY PROBLEM!!! I can't believe you would even suggest that! I always slept with my window cracked and ALWAYS had the fan running when showering. I am very aware of preventitive actions and I don't make up stories! In fact the entire window sill and 3 spots in the popcorn ceiling had black mold when I moved in! I was desperate for a place and should have taken my time in finding a place more fit. This place is NOT recomended for living....
