I am shocked that a place like this is legal in the US, especially in Bellevue. I moved here from a across the state and did not know anything about Bellevue and was fooled into thinking this was an ok place by the office. I stupidly did not take the reviews on this website seriously before I moves in, and I now wish I had. The first thing you should know about these reviews is the ONLY person who has anything good to say about these apartments is Apartmenttenant2007 .who I know for a fact is secretly someone who works in the office. That should be your first clue. I live in building a5. There are 4 horrible things about these apartments that you need to know
1. Safety
I have numerous times been followed to my car by nasty ghetto black and Mexican guys (some who were hired to WORK there for the renovations ) , its so bad that I have bought pepper spray and am seriously considered a gun. I am a Native American girl with a black boyfriend, believe me im not a racist. The people that live here are low class, no morals, disgusting dirty scums of the earth. A girl in her 20s was raped in her apartment by her neighbor 1 year before I moved in go ask the office if you want proof, they are required to tell you. We have heard people try to open our apartment door before. Iv had my laundry stolen right out of the washers MANY times. Unless you want to get raped or harassed daily DO NOT LIVE HERE.
2. Smell/people that live here
I used to enjoy cooking. Now every morning when I wake up I immediately smell the disgusting curry/urine smell form my DISGUSTING neighbors, and immediately lose my appetite. I refuse to cook in a kitchen that smells like Indian incense, urine and dirty kids. There is NO ventilation AT ALL in the buildings. I even bought a 400 dollar air purifier to help with the smell .and it slightly took the edge off but not nearly enough. Everyone I know call these apartments Little India because all that lives here are low class Indian and -------- who let their horrible dirty kids run screaming though the halls, with no concern that their neighbors may find that annoying.
I don t know how it works in India, but welcome to America. We use babysitters when were to lazy to control our kids. The people below me love to play weird Indian techno music on full volume until 4am on weeknights. The kids AND adults literally pee in the hallways and elevator!!!
3. how it looks to outsiders
I am embarrassed to bring people here. My friends cant believe someone would have the nerve to charge me 1200 a month for a shi* hole not suitable to living unless your used to a clay hut in a third world country. Actually on second thought, id rather live in the clay hut. The ladies at the front desk are all rude and obviously hate their job, except for the younger one with super short dark brown hair. She is really nice, I feel bad for her that she works here.
4. Health concerns
THE WATER HERE IS BROWN. I REPEAT. THE WATER HERE IS BROWN. The water is so gross and yellow/brown that I actually feed my dog bottled water because I think anyone would get sick from drinking that water. Also, there is something here making me sick, and I think it s the mold. I was a perfectly happy healthy 21 year old before moving here. Since the first month of moving here Iv had horrible and constant colds, allergies and stomach issues. I know for a fact that it is the actual apartment making me sick, because I went and stayed with my parents for 2 weeks and immediately felt better. THIS PLACE IS HELL.
I would not be surprised if the government shuts this place down in the next couple years. I am finally getting out of this hell hole, the only reason I stayed this long was because I didn t have time to move last time the lease was up. PLEASE DO NOT MOVE HERE. The place im moving into is a clean building built in 2005 in Bellevue, and its on $30 more than this place. BELIVE ME I know whats its like to be so broke you will take the cheapest thing you can find but I promise you, you can find better places in Bellevue, Kirkland, or Factoria for the same price, or less, that you don t have to compromise your health, safety and dignity for.
Thank you for reading, and I hope you take this seriously, because I would not wish this place on anyone.

I second EVERYTHING you wrote!!! I too, with my roomate and son, got really sick and had all the challenges you did and more.... I've written reviews here too. i read one review about a clas action lawsuit that was going on and if anyone had any comments or stories to email this guy so I did but never heard back. =( I have called bellevue public health department and bellevue building permits. All of our electrical outlets were sparking and at one point they had a fire underground right outside the building door..... I hope all take this very seriously!!!

I am completely appalled at the review above...it shocks me to know that in today's time and age, one holds grudge against a community based on the color of their skin and origin...if you were so disgusted by living with ------- you should have taken time out and moved out immed and not let ' being busy' be your excuse...
i live here myself and do have problems of my own with the apartment like no ventilation and smelly corridors but i dont go to the extent of blaming ------- for that...any sensible person can understand that it cos there is virtually no ventilation...
i agree that dirty corridors and old equipment is a problem, but not with / cos of the RESIDENTS...it is very shameful that somebody wud call kids 'DIRTY' just cos they probably dont look as pretty or cos they dont dress up according to your taste...they probably dont even know that a grown up person such as yourself is calling them like this..they wud probably smile at you just as innocently as they wud to any black / brown /etc...
Everyone who stays here pays equal rent and follows same rules and therefore nobody has the right to call them 'low class'.
I am also sorry but i donot agree with you that people / kids pee in the corrdors / elevator...it is so not true and just a figment of your imagination and exaggeration...
i donot recommend these apartments to anyone but not cos there are ------- here but cos these are old appts and you cud get better value for your money elsewhere.
PS- Pls dont spread racism.
