After graduating from Western I moved into this apartment to get away from the predominantly college crowd that dominates the rest of Bellingham. My neighbors (up until very recently) have always been quiet and friendly. The management staff has been courteous, friendly, and helpful- especially their maintenance guys. They are super nice, extremely prompt and proactive about other problems in your apartment. The apartments are in a great location (within five minutes of the college, two grocery stores, a greenway trail, three parks, and right on the bus line). Storage units are available on site for a reasonable price and parking is unassigned - a rarity in Bellingham. The apartments also offer 6, 9, and 12 month leases, which is nice if you don't know how long you might stay.
My only complaints:
- there is only on-site laundry and it is EXPENSIVE and the machines don't work well (often have to dry clothing more than once, at $1.35 per use)
- Pet deposit is very expensive ($400)
- Apartments are old, and therefor lack modern wiring and appointments (example: you can only get one speed of Quest DSL internet, and you cannot get Comcast cable. You have to go with a provider called "Rainbow," which I personally have never heard of.)
Other than those things, I would highly recommend these apartments to anyone looking for a reasonably priced apartment in a quiet and safe community.
