I am a college student and have little money to spend on a place to live. I will be taking out loans to make sure I never have to live in a place like this again. New management took over the apartment around May of 2003 and they are awful. Besides my apartment being old, run-down, with orange/brown shag carpeting. And besides my car being broken into twice, the management was unrelentlessly rude. They tried to jip us out of rent, deposit, and gave us tons of hassles on maintance work that is their job according to the contract. It took two weeks for them to come fix our garbage disposal and that long for them to fix our toilet. When our toilet leaked our bathmats were soaked and we put them outside to dry because it was taking them so long to come fix our toilet. They left a notice on our door that if we did not take the bathmats inside within 10 days they would evict us! they came all the way up to our apartment to leave that on our door yet they could not come in a fix the toilet! This (along with the Hideaways - under the same management) are the worst places to live in Bellingham.

i lived in the Hideaways from 2001-2002. Management came right away to fix whatever needed fixed. Only problem I had was with the laundry facilities. Dryers did not dry clothes, I wasted a lot of money on laundry. My car was never broken into, and I always felt safe. I am sorry to see that it turned this way.

I'm very pleased with maintenance and management.

I lived there from 2002-2005 and I can verify that management DID change and they are RUDE. Just go door to door at the hideaways (same management) and ask anyone who lives there and they will say the same thing. Our car was also broken into twice and management didn't care at all! They FINALLY put in bright lights on the outside of the buildings. So there patricialoser!!!
