You're required to have a parking sticker... but parking is not enforced. It is a CHORE to find parking since most of the apartments have multiple families (not on lease) secretly living there. You're rarely able to take out your trash because the compactor seems to always be full. The police seem to always be out here chasing the local wannabe gangsters. The security lighting is rarely kept in working order. The units come with laundry units in the apartments. but the machines are so old it takes several cycles to clean and dry clothes. The refridgerator either freezes all the food or quits working and spoils all your food (and management refuses to replace it). Some of the other residents will get behind the wheel of their veichles after drinking too much. My rent has gone up well over a hundred dollars a month in just three years. This place has really gone downhill since our complex was sold to a new owner two years ago. JUST STAY CLEAR... I HAVE NO DOUBT IT'S GOING TO CONTINUE TO GET WORSE, AS LONG AS LARKIN PLACE IS OWNED BY THE SAME SLUMLORDS.

Larkin Place is a good place if neighbors would be neighbors and look out for each other. You have problems anywhere you go, instead of talking about it do something positive to enahance the living the situation. The offica staff is there to help and they do accept ideas and changes with a great attitude.

I have done things like help people take in there groceries in to their apartments and pick up trash around the community. i have also told the young boys who think they are gangsta's that life is about helping each other and if they continue down this path they will end up like most of my friends, dead or in jail. you think i would have put in a respose like that and not have done something. when we first moved in we could not believe how lucky we were to finally live in a good neighborhod like this. thank you for your advice but we are diong things to make this a better place, but management is screwing us over, plain and simple. we have given management our suggestion and complaints but things are still getting worse. and with the rise of rent people won't change because wages are not keeping up with the high cost of living. therefore people can't do things to change and one person or two helping won't matter. but i am still trying.
