Do NOT live here.

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2007

This was the absolute worst living situation I have ever been in. I lived there from Summer 2005 to the end of Summer 2007 while I was in school at Western. The only reason I kept living there was because I honestly didn't have the money to move. Within the first month of living there our washer broke down. It took them six and a half weeks to fix it. There was mold growing in both bedrooms, the bathroom, and the back door area. We were supposed to have a screen and were told that it would be installed almost immediately. Two years later after constant inquiries we still did not have a screen. The kitchen only had one drawer and we were told that the kitchen would be upgraded while we lived there. That never happened. The manager never called for us when we had packages- some of which were medication for my fiance after he moved in. My first roommate was a great friend from college and ended up moving out for several reasons, one of which being that the manager had no clue what she was doing. My boyfriend, now fiance, ended up moving in and we had to constantly ask her to try to fix things. During the winter of 2006 we had massive rain storms which caused damage to the inside of our apartment because of the poor caulking job that was done on the deck above us. This still was not fixed. They told us that we may have to move out of our apartment so they could rip down the wall and redo the whole back area. Of course, they didn't have any other apartment for us to move into so this remained this way. The parking lot is absolutely horrendous. They never did anything productive when trying to "deice" it. They threw a bunch of stuff around the parking lot and called it good. There were never assigned spots that actually stayed with an apartment. She constantly changed them. The pets were also a nightmare. The lady above us had three cats, the lady above her had four. We are only supposed to have a maximum of two. We had two cats ourselves and I'm glad we were able to have them. Our next door neighbors ended up getting a dog just after they married. They finally moved out and then a new neighbor moved in with an even larger dog. Dogs were not supposed to be an option at this place and the dog was constantly yapping and barking at us. When we finally moved out at the end of summer 2007 we cleaned the entire apartment- much more than we wanted to but we wanted to make sure we didn't get docked for anything. The manager told us she had people moving in that night, and that new people would be moving into their apartment the next morning. We finished around 5:30pm and had left it almost totally spotless. We didn't think there would be any real cleaning cost except replacement of the curtains and possibly the stove rings. Instead we got a check for less than $45 and claiming that they had 12 hours of cleaning to do. When we called and asked for an itemized list of what had needed to be done she mumbled something about getting it out to us and that the carpet had cat pee all over (not true- our cats NEVER sprayed or peed on the rug). She never did send that list and we never got the rest of our money. Do not live here- they don't repair anything in a timely manner if at all, and they don't care about anything but gossiping about you and taking your money.

I feel sorry for this person. I was the upstairs neighbor. I helped her roommate put some things in her car when she was moving. She was upset with the new boyfriend her roommate got not the management. She said the guy was abusive. I am so glad management had these people move. I saw their apartment when they moved out. I had to go down to talk to Manager and it was awful. There was so much grease on that stove that it grossed me out. 12 hours of cleaning seems low. They were down there cleaning for 4 days. When they started complaining about the service dog downstairs the Manager called all of us that were near and I never once heard that dog. Those people were weird!
