The South Hill Apartments wooed us with its spectacular Bellingham Bay views, beautiful grounds, reputable historic neighborhood and convenient location, but the actual apartments left MUCH to be desired. The building was poorly converted from a hospital. Over two years we lived in two different apartments in the Manor Building - both had inefficiently laid out rooms, poor storage or no storage, exposed pipes, window blinds that did not work properly (even after the management had them fixed), stained carpet, etc. The apartment building was under renovation the entire 2 years we lived there with very little to show for their work. Management could stand to put a little less time and effort into beautifying the grounds and entry way and more time doing greatly needed updates in the actual living spaces. Another downside was the water was shut off about every other week for repairs. We stayed as long as we did for the neighborhood and proximity to the water and local trails.
