First of all, let me tell you, Archstoners, that you are being used like Roxanne with the red light on. The 10 to 20% increase in apartment rent is just simply not justified with today's market. While we still might be one of the last remaining areas to be selling houses with 30% super-inflation (just look at their prices 3 years ago) thats ending right now, RIGHT NOW.

So what does that mean' People are willing to pay so probably nothing in the short term, but when you have to live on less and less, this post is going to come back to you. We need rent controls. These sick bastards are going to get freakin greedier and greedier as their portfolios shrink further and further. At first you'll see Joe and Susan Blow get an eviction notice, but after 5 or six families get displaced there will be an all out drive to get prices in this area where they should be. Your one bedroom isn't worth a thousand dollars, it's worth $750 MAX, and your two bedroom is worth $950 MAX and your three bedrooms are worth $1150 MAX. With the dollar being currently on par with the Canadian dollar, just go up there and find out how housing is, its significantly lower for comparable square footage. WAKE UP PEOPLE! DEMAND RENT CONTROL!

I totally agree. I moved into a 2 bedroom in July for 1135, yikes I know, but we were desperate, and not even 2 weeks later my friend inquired and they raised it to 1250... come on people, the general population cannot afford the price of the ritz for an apartment that has crappy parking and rude managment.

Mine was $1400 by the time I moved out. But as far as rent control? Forget it. The landlord lobby made it so niether the county nor the city can set rent control and the state won't do anything about it. Face it folks they got you by the ...... I moved in to a trailer park, believe me when I say that it is much better than archstone.
