Problem 1) When I agreed to lease a unit, I was promised a garage directly in front of my building. When I picked up the keys, I was told that the "maintenance man" said I couldn't have the garage. I later found out that they are using it for storage. I was given a garage that is 2 buildings away and at such an angle that I can't get my vehicle in it. Beware of this "bait and switch" trick.

Problem 2) I chose a unit that was far away from the 522 freeway because I wanted a quiet place to live. Unfortunately, I could hear every footstep of my upstairs neighbors. I could also hear their conversations and all their bathroom uses. When they flush the toilet, it sounds like Niagara Falls. There is no insulation at all when it comes to the plumbing (or anything else)!

Problem 3) According to the lease, there is to be no car repairs, businesses, etc in the complex. I immediately noticed a guy running a car repair shop out of his garage in the evenings. Also, someone is using their garage for storing products for their business. I was amazed to see one garage with 11 bicycles in it. Apparently no one is parking their cars in their garage. They all seem to be used as storage. This is why there is such a terrible parking situation.

Problem 4) Beware of the management. They appear all smiles, but they're not the brightest bunch of folks (disclaimer, this is my OPINION).

Solution 1) Please read Paragraph 9 in your lease. It states that if you're not happy with your apartment, with written notice (and fully paid rent), you can vacate the unit within 30 days of the lease date. I exercised this option. Goodbye Archstone Canyon Creek.
