I lived there for a year and absolutly loved it, I would have recommended to anyone except they screw you in the end. They are currently trying to charge me $1300.00 for the alleged damage to the apartment, which was none besides the normal wear and tear. They are trying to say that they have to replace the carpet, which I have never heard an apartment charge that much for carpet replacement. It's a complete rip off. Apartment living is nice, very quiet, except if you decide to move there, just don't move out or you will get screwed. They say they are pet friendly and they will charge you pet rent and pet deposit, but don't know why they even do that if they claim they have to replace everything cause of your pet.

I can completely back this person up on what they are saying. If you decide to rent at this particular complex (I don't know about other Archstone complexes personally), you are risking being treated so unfairly you would think that no one can get away with these types of business dealings. They can and they do. I had to haggle with one of the managers there to bring my move-out costs (I have lived in 4 apartments in my time and have NEVER been charged move-out costs, in fact I always got at least part of my deposits back because I cleaned the places so well, as I did with Archstone) down from over $600 down to $250. That was after living there for 7 months (I moved because they jacked my rent up $250 a month), and extensively cleaning the apartment and shampooing the carpets. I would normally never think to come onto a site like this one, but you have so you're smart. There are many apartments in the area where they treat you with respect at least, I have never experienced anything like what I did at Canyon Creek. I am still writing about it and moved out 6 months ago so you can see what kind of impression they leave on you. I would take them to court honestly, just so that other people can see how horrible they treat human beings who work hard for their money, but obviously if I am renting apartments I can't afford the legal costs. Good luck finding an apartment! And I hope if you do decide to rent at Archstone Canyon Creek they have changed, and your experience is better than mine. Unfortunately I doubt it.

I can second this. I stayed in Archstone Apartments for more than 2 years. They charge $300 to move in and then treat you unfairly all through. The manager is a total b****. They will find reasons to nickel and dime you throughout. I have lived in in rentals for 10 years and have never been charged extra when leaving . Here they charged me $500 for cleaning the apartment. This is a total rip off. Trust me, When I read all these reviews, it gave me a solace that I was not the only one. I cleaned my apartment for a week before I returned it. I cleaned it to my best and could have been justifiable charged $100-200 for moving out but these guys charged me $500 and again Manager is a total b**** and unkind and unfair. Hope she burns in hell and they charge her huge there for cleaning her ---- there. Archstone Apartments Canyon Creek is a total rip off. Do not be dazzled by their website or smooth talking office staff. They are the friendliest when you move in and b****** when you move out. Stay away from these cons at all costs
