I've lived in the community for 4 years. Old managers were very awesome, but new management need more training in customer service. After reading the reviews, I happen to notice that, in general, those who would recommend this place to others give it a perfect 5, whereas those who don't recommend it seem a bit more sincere since they don't rate it a complete zero. Perhaps it could be management themselves who are trying to counteract the negative comments being said about the place.
Another important thing is tenants pay for sewer and garbage, but there are many times when I've seen garbage overflowing the dumpsters. Doesn't that make a lovely sight'!' And in the first year I've lived here, there were recycling services where the bins were next to each garbage dumpster for easy access. As the years went by, management has moved recycling bins in only one location and far from most of the units. It has been suggested that a recycling bin (just one, mind you) be put near the mail station, because tons of junk mail are being tossed. As if Archstone doesn't truly appreciate the beauty the trees give in its surroundings.
Finally, you readers may be wondering, "then why am I staying here for more than 4 years'". Well, you may have also read a review that a tenant left the premises in good terms and with only the final utility bill. THAT'S BECAUSE SHE STAYED THERE FOR 5 YEARS, AND USED THE COUPON THAT IS OFFERED BY MANAGEMENT FOR NEW PAINT (every 4 years) AND NEW CARPET (every 5 years)! Smart tenant. See, tenants don't necessarily have to be a victim. They just know how to use what is being provided. Hopefully, management won't take away the yearly rewards after this review. And if so, there's another sign of why not to move in.
