I wrote a previous review about 3 years ago and unfortunately due to financial situations we had to stay living at Archstone longer than we had hoped. But I am pleased to say that we were finally able to move! I was absolutely ecstatic to walk out of that 'cave' for the last time. We now live in a beautiful townhome in Redmond and the difference is like night & day and we couldn't be happier.
I have to say that I was not surprised when I read the previous review about what was found behind an appliance while they werew cleaning. I was disgusted by it, but not surprised at all. We spent HOURS cleaning our apartment, we cleaned absolutely EVERYTHING and moved every appliance that could be moved and it was so obvious those appliances had never been moved prior to us. First of all we found a hairbrush that was not ours and then a lint brush that was not ours.
I totally regret spending the hours that we did to clean that apartment from top to bottom because we did not get one single penny back from our deposit. My suggestion to people that are moving, don't even waste your time cleaning because it doesn't matter, you will not get your deposit back. In all of our years of renting, we have NEVER not gotten our deposits back, we've always been told that we left the place in better condition than when we moved in so I was appalled that we didn't get our deposit back. Again, according to previous reviews, I wasn't surprised. Get this, they billed us for $2.34!
I wanted to fight the whole deposit thing but it just wasn't worth my time, I was just happy to be out of there.
We did get our 'revenge' though, we had gone to the office after we moved to give them our $2.34 and while my husband was in there he overheard a tenant reporting a car being broken into. This person asked if there had been any previous thefts or vandalism and the office staff said that they couldn't talk about that. Well my husband talked to her outside and told her that our car had been broken into not once but two times and he also told her about all of the thefts that we had heard about and what the Bothell police had told us. We also told her about the mail thefts as well and suggested that she get out as soon as she could.

If you want to live in a complex where your car is bound to be broken into and your mail may be stolen; where the management staff is rude & unfriendly; where the apartments are small & stuffy and where your neighbors leave garbage on their door step, let their grills overflow with cigarette butts and let their dogs pee in the breeze ways, then by all means move to Archstone North Creek!

Also, the lovely management staff had the audacity to leave us an eviction notice a the month that we were leaving. We had paid our rent on time but they were saying that we short paid them and had 3 days to pay or leave. Of course when we brought the notice to the office there wasn't a manager there who could help us. We asked them how they figured we had short paid and they told us that when you are on a month to month basis that the rent can go up at any time.....we asked "but aren't you supposed to TELL US when it increases'". Long story short, they were wrong; we had paid what we were supposed to on time. Then they acted like they were being inconvenienced when we asked them to put their error in writing in case their eviction notice ever showed up on our credit report or rental history.
