Don't expect to get your deposit back

Other than not getting any of my deposit back, and parking, I generally liked living in this complex. They were farily brand new and the amenities were great! Good sized workout place and beautiful pool!
When you move out though, definately do a walk through with management. I spent 3 days scrubbing and cleaning that damn place and I didn't get anything back. I didn't argue, because I was already in California.
Also, if you have 2 cars, forget about parking! I only had my one car and on the days I would come home after 8:00...I had to park FAR!

HEY EINSTEIN: ARCHSTONE PROPERTIES DON'T TAKE REFUNDABLE DEPOSITS UNLESS YOU HAVE NO CREDIT IN THIS COUNTRY. And even then you still have to pay the non refundable fee too! Read your lease! You know, the front part, where you sign and it has lots of numbers and words and lines and stuff? I bet it says non-refundable LEASE FEE next to the amount you paid for your "deposit". Fees are not refundable, especially not when coupled with the phrase "non-refundable". |

This caught my eye too. Archstone does not require refundable deposits... the only deposit is clearly identified upfront as nonrefundable. I'm moving out too because of the continual massive rent increases... and I'm scrubbing every inch of the place. But there is NO refundable deposit.
