I hate it here

Lived here since 07, and I hate it. The moment you open your windows or patio door, you'll be inundated by curry and spices, or BBQ. You'll want to get used to the smells because the units absorb all the heat in the summer. Come to think of it, even when the windows and doors are closed, the door doesn't shut properly, so you get the smell seeping in anyway. During the winter, the place is freezing, and you'll be paying an arm and a leg to the PUD just to stay comfortable. Noise: You can hear through the walls/ceiling, and noise complaints are rarely addressed. Furthermore, when you turn on your bathroom fan, you need turn on all the fans in your unit, or the air is just transferred from the kitchen to the bathroom to the laundry room.
I just recently found out that the office staff accepts free food for vendors to place leaflets/advertising on resident doors. How ethical is that'
Parking is horrible. Get home early, or you're parking away from your building. These people charge for carports. The water, sewer, and garbage bill is outrageous. On top of the normal fees, they charge over $4 for a stupid administration fee. As if the rent isn't enough to cover printing the bills.
The grounds are nicely kept. I appreciate that. The "1-Day Service Guarantee" is a damn joke! Don't even bother submitting a service request online. Go into the office, and be sure to observe your request being written down, otherwise forget about it. Even after all that effort, you'll need to harass the staff until they get your problem addressed. Then, when someone comes out, you'll have to wait even longer, because they 'do not have the parts.' They never have parts.
For as much as you're paying in rent, you'd figure you get some nice appliances, decent fixtures and nice counter tops. NOPE! The counters were apparently painted over with white spray paint before I moved in, because after repeated cleaning, all of the knife marks from the previous tenant are visible. The dishwasher is like listening to a helicopter land in your kitchen.
And the way the rent fluctuates here is ridiculous. Doesn't seem to me that they are following market trends. You'll see what I'm talking about when they quote the rent amount to you, or you can check it out online at their site.
Bottom line, rent elsewhere, or buy a house. This place sucks.

If you think the above review is "exaggerating", you're wrong. This review hits the nail square on the head.

AGREED! I forgot about the white paint on the countertops, but that was in our apartment too. I would have to say, the grounds are nice if you don't look too closely. Our upstairs neighbors always through stuff out their windows so the patches by our apartment were filthy. I even got hit by a half eaten pickle while moving out. Icing on the cake, I tell you what. SO glad we're outta there!
