Ok so I agree with most of the things here and disagree with some. First off all you people talking about fireplaces here are crazy...Northcreek doesn't have fireplaces in any units. Honestly I got a sweet move in deal. NO App fee and NO move in cost, AND an $800 credit towards my first months rent...which honestly for having NO rental history and hardly any credit as I am 19 I thought that was great. They did do a background check but did not verify my income which I thought was funny but hey I didn't lie about that, just think for what you pay here they should check that out to make sure people can afford this. I pay $1197 for a 2bed/2bath UPDATED. This means I have Salt n' Pepper colored laminate counter tops that honestly look like granite...I love it. I have new cabinets and all white appliances and brushed nickel fixtures. The girl below me I actually went to high school with and she pays $1150 and her apartment isn't updated so I feel like a got a good deal. I do agree with the parking being terrible I just forked out the $30 for a carport cause I really don't feel like having to defrost my windows every morning in the winter. As far as noise...I live on the third floor so I couldn't tell you about the people walking noise, however I haven't heard my neighbors at all. I am in building 11 and maybe that one isn't full of tenants but it is really quiet. I also have a gorgeous view of the sunset from my balcony which I love. My garbage disposal broke and they called me within 4 hours of summiting the service request online to have the maintenance gut come fix it. I was impressed with that. The only problem I have had are the STUPID STUPID girls in the office. They are so freakin rude. I was late on rent by ONE day and got a 3 day pay or vacate notice my first month and explained to them I would have it by the 11th because I just started a new (better paying) job and unfortunately the paychecks didn't match up to when rent is due. The girl I spoke with told me that the 11th was too long and she was going to put in through to legal and then I would have to pay legal fees. She was so rude and said "I don't know why you don't understand that you obviously have to pay rent this isn't free, I know you are young but it's common sense, what did you think you were going to live here for free' Don't you have parents you can ask for help." I so badly wanted to say to her "Listen you little b**** I make $40,000/yr and I'm 19, you get paid to sit on your a** all day and drive lil go cart" but I refrained. Needless to say I love the apartment but the office staff is terrible and they are so stupid!

I hope your deal lasts... most everyone gets a super move in deal... THEN the massive annual rent increases start coming. And LOL you DO have a LOT to learn... yah you gotta pay your rent on time just about ANYWHERE you live! :) The lease is VERY clear about late fees... besides Archstone gives a 3-day time slot to pay without penalty. If you got a notice to vacate without this leeway they must have had a VERY good reason as they do NOT give move out notices until at least the 4th day after rent is due. Even then it is generally just a $50 penalty for being late. There is more to this story IMO. I lived there five years and found the office staff VERY friendly and helpful... but yah they DO insist you pay your rent or move. :) Might not be a good idea to get such a big head about the job... you still gotta pay your bills. :)

Different Archstone complexes have different lay outs. Northcreek doesn't have fireplaces, but others do. Apartments sucker everyone in with move in deals. They offer a low rent, easy move in on a short lease. 9 months later BAM! Your rent sky rockets higher than the "average" rent they claim to be following. What the heck do you do at age 19 that you can afford $1197 on rent?! I lived in their 2bdrm apt last year and paid $925 a month; which is still outrageous. Face it, you lucked out with the service request. The majority of tenants get shafted. I made the same service request 4 times over a 6 month period. And they still tried charging me for it upon move out. Pay your rent on time.
