They call themselves 'Luxury' to cash in even more. The rent is outrageously high at the moment for what we get. Property is noisy, neighbors loud and distant. There's no sense of community and I feel that the office staff, even though responsive and proper, are only truly interested in getting more ans MORE money out of residents pockets.

I use to live at Rock Meadow and I worked in property management for years before I moved in. What I don't think this person understands is something called "market rent" and the fact that the people in the office have a corporate office that sets standards that they need to live up to. You obviously will pay for an apartment that is ???way too expensive??? so the joke is really on you. If the place was too expensive why did you move in, in the first place? You must have known what you were going to be getting, you viewed the apartment before you move in. And about the noise, I get so sick of people whining about this??? YOU LIVE IN AN APARTMENT! There are on all sides of you just a wall away. What do you want them to tear down the place and put sound-proof walls up? Be realistic. You knew you were moving into an apartment and all the things that go along with it when??? YOU WENT LOOKING FOR AN APARTMENT! The management can send them written notices, but they aren???t there 24 hours a day. All the people that complain all the time are out there, they would die if they purchased a home because they would have no one there to baby-sit them and no one to blame when their neighbors are loud or someone is blocking their driveway. But the moral of the story to this person never should have signed a lease at a place that they couldn???t afford and shouldn???t be complaining about their huge financial mistake afterwards, because it is really only their fault.

I agree. Its odd people complain when they signed the paperwork and know what the rent will be. I have been all over this complex at all hours and have never heard noise except from the retirement complex they are putting up next to us. Honestly, some people are never satisfied. Perhaps buying an island might be in order for some.

I think we all understand market rent just fine- thank you for your lack of true definition though. The point you are missing is that they truly are not luxury apartments (nothing really is I real-estate or rentals). I have lived in cheaper COLLAGE apartment more quiet and enjoyable than this quickly turning into white trash 'community'. And the word 'community'...not in the least. Goodness gracious if even a maintenance staff member acknowledges you when driving by. There is no sense of community no matter how hard one tries. I don???t need a babysitter, but thank you. Unfortunately, some of us live there per work contract and if you want the free rent, that is where you live. If your neighbors were waking you up on Saturday & Sunday between 6:00-6:30AM and not being quiet (meaning stomping, slamming of drawers and doors which causes pictures to shift on your wall and glasses to jump off your shelves and break on more than one occasion), vacuuming and laundry until 12:30-1:00AM???how would you handle it? Where would you turn if since winter you were consistently communicating with management of the noise and nothing was done? If security continually reports the noise as a ???mechanical??? noise when it was called in as ???shaking of apartment.???? We have to be up at 5:00AM for work???you do the math. Time Well Spent? Try Time Well Wasted.

Some of the "that's apartment life" comments are true. Every rental company shows prospective tenants the "model unit" which is always a little nicer than the regular units because, usually, no one's ever lived in it. People look at apartments during the middle of the day on weekdays, which doesn't give them a good picture of what the place is like at night or weekends -- better thing to do would be stop by at around 9pm or so, take a look at the parking, see if you think it's noisy, etc, before signing a lease. The rent should be well known before you sign anything. However, the term "luxury" is just marketing (for some, I guess having a washer/dryer in the unit is a "luxury") -- probably people are not too happy with higher rents in the area in general. With Avalon maybe being easier to afford but still, in their opinion overpriced. I'd hate to think that property managers log onto these sites and argue with reviewers -- if it's obvious (and it usually isn't) who it is, then I'd think it'd only hurt prospective renters' opinions of the staff (who wants to live in a place where the property managers are argumentative?).

You are not alone in the noise department. I live in another Avalon apartment and since the manager and his staff went to another Avalon apartment things have slowly gotten worse. Lease rules use to be enforced but now the current management seems indifferent to ones concerns. There will always be noisy neighbors but doing laundry at 1:00am is a bit much since most Avalon "quite hours" are from 9:00pm to 6:ooam. If people that manage these places have attitudes like the first "anonymous" writes then this is why nothing gets done. If this person doesn't like people complaining about things and noise then this person should NOT be in a customer service job...GET A DIFFERENT JOB AND STOP BITCHING ABOUT TENANTS.. TENANTS PAY YOUR SALARY IDIOT!!!!

The former manager, I think his name was Dylan lived on site and was extremely strict but you knew that he cared. An employee told me he was fired for caring too much. Now this place is dirty, stairwell lights are out and in my building have been out for a few months. It's really disappointing to hear so much unhappiness.
