Read this review - I am a Master's level social worker with no ax to grind

After reading the other reviews on this site, I had to first really think about these folks' motive, and then decide to write my own truth. My father (a 76 year old professional who works hard that most 36 year olds) leased a 2 bd/1 ba apartment from CP in September of 07. The very first clue I had that management was willing to work with clients' needs was that my father, at the time, was in Adak, Alaska, making onsite leasing just a tad difficult. The staff not only made it easy, but just about did it for us. Additionally, because I (his daughter) was on my way out of town to take care of some end-of-life issues for another family member, my father had agreed to take in my 17 year old daughter - again, this posed no "ohmigodahorribleteenager" issues for the staff. In fact, they didn't blink an eye!

Since then, two or three untoward issues have come about - my daughter locked herself out, I came to stay with them briefly and also locked myself out and while neither of us was actually on the lease per se (she couldn't be as she wasn't 18 and I didn't live here) the office staff was gracious enough to work with us. Another issue, and an issue far more serious was one in which, after returning from my necesssary family ending, I was given a medical tranquilizer which I had a horrible reaction to and I created qutie a to-do at the apartments in which I believed that there were intruders in the apt and thus called the police (as a clinical social worker I can tell you that AMBIEN CR is a hypnotic/hallucinogenic and should not be taken by approximately 47% of normal folk, including me). I am MOST grateful, in fact, eternally grateful, when I say the staff just sort of said to me, hey, that stuff happens and we're glad you're okay! Let me remind you, I don't even LIVE here and many management teams under those circumstances would said "hey dear, hit the road and uh, oh yeah, don't come back." Never did they say that.

Ok. So those are the extremes. The more normal things such as maintenance needs' Taken care of always within 24 hours, and usually within 2-4. Because my father works out of town a great deal of the time, I am generally here 2-4 out of the week when he is not, and vice versa, and thus sometimes our AUM (okay alot of times) is tardy. We get just a nice little reminder on the door, without which we would totally space. When my now almost 18 year old daughter goes into the office, she is invariably treated with respect, and as a social worker who works with ages 12-21, I can tell you that is amazing in and of itself.

Yes, I am verbose, and have gone on for quite some time in singing CP's praises. I can count on one hand alone the times I have written in praise of any commerical item be it carpet cleaner, kool aid, airline food whatever, but truly, after reading the previous posts regarding Canyon Pointe, I couldn't not share my truth - and I don't even live here full time!!!!

After beginning to fill out these other items below, I guess I can add my only negative: the towel racks fall off easily, some of the kitchen faucets are a little loose and sometimes their screen door comes off. Oh dear, perhaps we better condemn them!

You sound like a politician, considering you claimed that all the other reviews weren't truths. They might of improved since then but I'll not hold my breath or give those crooks a second chance. :)

Dude, I'm no politician. Give me three solid, true examples of how horrible this place is, and maybe I'll change my mind. I am an unemployed social worker and a single mother so I have nothing to gain. I just spoke my truth. Do you know what that is?

weird story, but overall reviews do tell something, usually pretty exact,as in motel reviews also, follow along and you will get the gist of what to expect/ I travel and move frequently/ comments on housing pretty much tell whole story provided have more than 1 to read /end units and top floor are only way to live in any of these places If you can rent a true condo, usually this is the best as they have top end appliance, fixtures and strict noise codes sense of minding own business, cheers
