I would recommend living at Pinnacle Sonata with a few caveats

Pinnacle Sonata is a nice, safe community with nice sized units and good highway access.
The rents are high but the quality of the units, the spaciousness and light, airy interiors are big pluses. It feels like living in your own home.
Although the fit and finish of the units is questionable, Pinnacle Sonata is obviously very well built. We live on the hill and experienced the Feb. 2001 earthquake while living here. The building rode the wave of the earthquake and we sustained no damage at all. That's all it took to convince us that the construction is solid.
The biggest drawback to living at Pinnacle Sonata is the noise problems. There seem to be a lot of young punks with loud cars that move into the community and race around at all hours of the night. Management does nothing to monitor or change this.
I have also been very upset with the snotty nature of the community manager on many occasions. She has extremely poor people skills and does not seem to understand that she is here to work with the tenants. Her manner is always abrasive and rude. None of my neighbors have had a positive experience with her either. She is definitely not an asset to the BRE company.
Overall, if you can deal with the noise and avoid the property manager, Pinnacle Sonata is a good place to live.
