I just want to say, that I can't believe people are actually bad-mouthing Sonoma Villero. This community has been totally AWESOME--way better than any of the condos or apartments i've lived in before. i am 100% happy i bought a place here, and this guy who wrote the last review doesn't really have much legitimacy in complaining.

I'm just visiting this site for the first time, and i'm really ticked off about what this last guy wrote so I think I will pick apart this last jerk said. First, do you even own a place here or are you renting''' If you're renting, then you don't have much latitude to complain -- these are CONDOS. If the owner doesn't fix anything up after a crappy renter like you, that's no reflection on the rest of the homes here.

1. First, he said: "This place sucks. The people are really what make it such a terrible place to live. I have never had so many grumpy and rude neighbors in my life."

>>My response -- you obviously haven't tried very hard to be amiable with your neighbors...don't forget it s a two-way street with every relation (neighbors, family, friends, significant others -- it ALWAYS takes two to tango). If their grumpy, there's a reason, and you're a part of that reason...probably because you were too damn noisy way too late into the night. Did you ever try inviting them over for dinner or asking them why their grumpy or attempt communicating with them more than twice (have you NEVER been grumpy'''--everyone has a bad day where they're grumpy).


2. He said: "The condo is cheap and falling apart, we?ve had to repair two toilets in one year and the kitchen floor has warped."

>>My response--I like what the earlier guy said about this being a minority of the homes. also, things fall apart because people don't take care of them. the toilets in these places are top-notch and just because little piece of porceline broke, does that mean the whole place is bad''' HELL NO. It only means that a little piece of porceline broke. Shall I find some "Home Maintenance" classes so you know how to actually take care of your place and not treat it like crap. or, maybe some communications classes so you know how to actually talk with the person who owns the place your renting'


3. He said "Our one NICE neighbor told me that someone entered our condo without our approval a couple of months ago."

>>Per the rules and by-laws of the homeowners association maintenance people can enter a home immediately if there is a community maintenance issue to be resolved (this is standard with ALL condos and homeowners associations, my lawyer tells me). also, i thought all your neighbors were grumpy'''..wait...don't you only have 2 neighbors' so one is grumpy and one is NICE''' hmmm....are they "rude and grumpy" because they actually knocked on your door and asked you to turn your music down'''' I'd be grumpy too if I had to knock on my neighbor's door at 1:30 in the morning and ask them to keep it down.


4. He said: "People don?t clean up after their pets either, I figured snobs would have some sense of what?s gross and what isn?t. Once we have the chance to move, better believe we?ll be happy to wash our hands of this place."

>>My response -- have you ever actually taken the time to come to the board meetings and voice the "concern," OR, actually do something about it (god forbid you, a homeowner, actually take action)...oh wait...that's right, you probably didn't do anything because a.you DON'T own a home here or b.you lack the social skills necessary to communicate, cooperate, and negotiate some sort of resolution to an issue you PERCEIVE...I emphasized 'perceive' here because he overexxaggerates the problem with cleaning up after pets. I've only seen this happen twice in the 2 years i've lived here and most of the people I talk to don't think this is a big issue (and NO, i don't own any pets).


In short, i think people use this website just to complain about things and more negative things show up than positives (because angry people have more incentive to complain about things)...i think the ratings should be higher than this because of the disproportionately high number of people who log on just to complain.
