This is pretty ridiculous. It's a sad situation but the truth is when you're happy with a place, you often let it go and don't bother spreading the word. When you have a complaint you yell loudest right- that's the situation here. The reviews on this site are pretty whack. I have lived here more than two years. I read this site often and laugh almost 90% of the time.
Be an "active renter" ie. if crap breaks from wear and tear call maintenance and get it fixed, don't let it get worse. Walt and Roger are the nicest guys ever and NEVER once have I had a complaint about them.
I don't know where to start really, when we first moved in we had a mold situation( this is the great Pac. Northwest. Condensation and dampness are a way of life )I contacted the office immediately - they totally fixed the situation and we were happy in the end. Which is all you can ask really.
The front office staff are really nice gals. I am a stay at home Mom w/ two small children and we walk up to the office almost daily for cookies and to visit. This place is family friendly- they often have get togethers for the complex- bbq's by the pool in summer etc.
The one thing I have recommended on a complex survey is a newer playground for kids but other than that no complaints. They return calls quick. I have NEVER waited more than 24 hours to have something fixed. I have seen complaints on here for parking- unless you buy a covered spot its first come first serve, I have NEVER had a problem with that.
Maybe I'm lucky!
And NO-
I DO NOT WORK for SMFarms.
I am writing this because not enough people tell the good stories.
And I like this place. No place is perfect, but this apt complex is a nice one, the upkeep and landscaping is really good, nice staff, you can have pets, people pick up their dog poop because the complex provides doggy stops with bags and trash cans around complex. I mean really, you will find mold/mildew issues in any complex- just don't be lazy about it. I CANNOT comment on the reviews about moving out and people getting "ripped off" not getting deposits etc. because obviously I have not moved out. But again, be an active renter- do a walk through with Walt before you move! Also give proper notice... there are laws about that sort of thing.
Alright all I can say is - just judge for yourself and don't listen to all the squeaky wheels on this site:)

How much they pay you to write this?

Do you mean 'how much DID they pay me to write this?' Nothing my dear. I am just a tenant with common sense, who knows to do a walk through with the staff or maintenance whom I have NEVER had one issue with thus far. If in fact I DO move out and it's a nightmare as so many claim, I'll be sure to post. Until then I can with great relief say- I like this apt. I like the staff. Moral of the story is don't leave your apt a mess, do not leave with funds owing, do not think people owe you a hand out. Leave the place how you found it! I agree normal wear and tear should be expected. But ask yourself is that really all you left was signs of normal wear and tear?
