BEWARE OF YOUR MOVE-OUT!!!

Hello, something just happened to me that I still can t believe happened but it did!

I have been a great renter at Willina Ranch for 4 years, keeping my apartment super clean and lot s of gorgeous flowers on the 3rd floor balcony in the P bldg, adding d cor to the main entrance of the grounds.

During this time, I ve donated several very expensive plants to the office manager.

When they ve asked me to pass advertisement flyers around the area to help them when they had too many empty units or move-outs, by offering me a referral bonus if someone would bring the flyer back in I ran all over the Bothell/Kirkland area, leaving flyers at several grocery stores, pharmacies, local college campus and even at the hospital break rooms where I work.

Over the 3 years with the present management, I never received a penny apparently no one ever came in with a flyer with my name on it!

Upon the management s request, I called the police several times over the years, when groups of young adults/kids would hop the fence after hours, having wild parties drinking and sex at the pool and hot tub until the wee hours They even broke into the cabana workout room!
I ve watered some of their plants when they were drying up in the planters and even spent time picking off all the dead geranium and marigolds flowers that were molding on the plants because they looked so pitiful.

Basically I took care of my place and the grounds as if they were my own and always had friendly rapports with the staff.

(No complaints today of the maintenance guys).

Well I moved out this past Nov 15th, paying November and December rent because my lease wasn t up until Dec 31st.

I had a professional house cleaner along with myself clean my entire apartment.

We cleaned inside and outside AND underneath ALL of the appliances, cupboards, closets washing down all of the doors, windows, bathroom, showers, etc.

etc To be honest, the place was a whole lot cleaner than when I moved in the apartment in 2006.

Thank God that I had friends that had advised me in the past to write down everything on the Move-In / Move-Out Inspection list! (marks on the floors, dust, grease, etc ) I turned my keys in to the office on November 23rd with at least 3 unrelated witnesses on how clean I left the place, hoping to get my refund back.

Already, when I turned in my move-out notice, I agreed to have my last my gas/electricity bill of $62 be deducted from the $200 Refundable Deposit .

Then I was told by the manager that an ADDITIONAL gas/electricity MOVE-OUT FEE of an additional $62 was to be imposed because that s just the way it is.

!!! So not right.

On January 6th, the manager calls me on the phone to ask me what happened to the 4 stove burners! She kept insisting that I may have packed them away in my boxes someone in my new home! I was stunned by her tone of voice and attitude as she repeated several times the same question as if she didn t believe me, implying that I had them! She stated that I was technically responsible for the apartment until Dec 31.

Yet at the same time, she mentioned that they changed the locks right after I turned the keys in! UH so how can I be responsible for a theft when I couldn t even get into the place! Figure that one out! (who had keys')

Anyway I FINALLY received this past week on Feb.

2nd a partial refund check of a grand total of $51.04.

I was shocked the manager collected $24 for those missing stove burners!!!

SO WARNING TO ALL TAKE PICTURES IF YOU DARE RENT HERE AND TAKE PICTURES IF YOU RE PLANNING TO MOVE OUT!!!

It s not about the money it s the principal of the matter and SO not right.

They deserve to be sued, but I prefer that life bring its own lessons that will have much more impact in time that is, hopefully, for their own Karma s sake.

I just find it pathetic and sad to see how a person can be so two-faced for her own gain, taking advantage of others at the cost of her own integrity.

I feel sorry for the Office Assistant.

Sue

Thanks for the warning! I know, I've heard the same type of complaints from people who got ripped off by the manager when they moved out! Who does she think she is? The Queen? She sure acts like one! You should sue her and stop this nonsense!

I still live here, and I agree, the Manager is so snooty and acts like she is superior about any and ALL issues. Her personal skills suck. She was SO sweet when I was looking at the place, then she snapped when I was moving in....kind of bipolar behavior if you ask me.

Hi, I was planning to move to Willina apartments next month, but I'm not so sure now. Genoa is the assistant manager and she has been really nice and sweet. The Manager seems nice too but know I that read your experiences I don't fell like moving there anymore

Definitely NOT moving in here now. After reading both the positive and negative comments here, I'm canceling my appointment and looking elsewhere. Thank you so much for your honesty! Genoa was very friendly over the telephone and via email however if the manager (the one running this show) is this arrogant and untrustworthy, it's not worth the aggravation.

There are some very nice, bigger, less expensive appartments on Simons Road that are really nice. I have friends there and they are happy. If you're driving westbound from 100th St, they are about a half a mile or so on your RIGHT hand side. Nice grounds and trees too. Good luck in your search. You won't regret NOT choosing Willina. The manager sucks at Willina, so arrogant. She should move to Hollywood!
