I lived at Bayview East Apts for one year, and it was my first apartment ever. I had a very mixed experience there. When I previewed one of their 1 bdrms, I thought it was very nice...clean and bright. I applied and moved in 2 weeks later. When I moved in, that was the first time I had ever seen the actual apartment I was to move into...I should have backed out then! MY apt. was old, with lime green limolium and brown carpet...not white like the apt. I had previewed. Being my first apt. and not very agressive, I didn't even say anything! In hindsight I should have! Living there was okay. I didn't have hot water all the time...I lived alone, so it wasn't too much of a problem. I did have a friend visit for a month and showers where a problem then. We had to take 2 minute showers or else there would be no hot water. That was annoying. The one bdrms are large and the outside is nicely landscaped. Lots of green and trees. I liked that. Their maintence person was great...really friendly and he always completed the jobs quicky. He was the most pleasant & knowlegable person to deal with on the premise. I had problems upon moving out. They were training a new person and didn't have her do a walk through with me. My first apt, so I dind't know better...I received a move-out bill of over $1000! It blew me away. I was charged for a lot of things that weren't even mentioned in the lease and they had "accidently" added an extra $250 to the bill that even they couldn't figure out. Through lots of mail correspondence (they never return calls) and headache, I got the bill down to $27, but not before they sent the case on to a collection agency. I had refused to pay the $1000, b/c I knew I'd never get the money back later. It's not a bad place to live on a day to day basis (except the water thing), but just watch out. Be persistent, b/c they have a way of not returning calls or answering requests (it took me 5 weeks to get a copy of my lease afer I moved in).
