I rented a studio in this apartment building for 10 months and did NOT enjoy my stay.

(plus) Plenty of parking. Right near a bus transfer center. Five minute walk from soda plant with 25 cent machines. Cheap.

(minus) You get what you pay for (well, not really even that). Management is -awful-. The employees changed many times in the ten months I was there. They made promises to fix problems that they never kept, and the assistant manager actually STOLE from me (he has since stopped working there, but this was due to an unrelated incident, big surprise he -was- a felon with a PO afterall). They don't allow pets, according to their rental agreement, but many of my neighbors kept cats and large dogs. Apartments themselves are very tiny (the building used to be a hotel). When I moved into my apartment, there was a giant poop in the toilet that had clearly been sitting there for months. The carpeted hallways leading to the apartments make it really easy for fleas to make their home in your unit. Kitchens are no bigger than a closet, with a sink so tiny you can't properly wash dishes in it. Walls and ceilings incredibly thin, I could hear everything my neighbors did. One of my neighbors appeared to have serious mental problems and would randomly scream at all hours of the night. Surrounded by soda bottling plants and car dealerships. On one side of the building is a gas station that is frequented by very loud trucks, on the other side is the freeway (you can't see it because of the trees blocking your view, however you can definitely hear it). Obvious drug problems (I was asked on occasion by my fellow tenants where I could get drugs and heard people talking outside my window about meth). The pool on the premesis was full of disgusting green water and trash. I did not feel safe here at all. The facilities are within easy walking distance of West Park, which is widely known as a festering rat-hole. Cannot decide whether West Park or Madrona Estates is worse.

Soon before I left the new management started to clean up the area (mowing, trimming hedges, etc) and had put up a notice saying they were going to fill in the pool with concrete.
