I admit I didnt know what to look for in a place but it definitely wasnt mold! We ended up leaving because the mold got so bad. At first they said they would get a mold specialist to come in and get everything checked out but then they had a plumber... who is not trained with mold(I called the company). They refused to believe it was mold and left our place trashed so the plumber could go in a fix a couple things. Meanwhile we developed health problems.

The manager watches all the places ALL the time, its creepy or shows up unexpectedly. I always felt bad for his wife because she seemed ok but it was so controlling that it made her look crazy too. Once my guests had their dog in their car with them and wanted to get the dog a drink so I got tap water and put it in a bowl, the dog was in my place for seriously 30 seconds and the manager shows up and says we need that dog out of our place or we can pay the animal rent... it was creepy and totally uncalled for! I paid my rent always on time and its not like I had an animal myself so why should I pay extra hundreds for that!

We cleaned that place spotless before we left because we wanted our deposit and they sent half of it to us and said it took them hours to clean... ya right! Oh well at least we were out of there. I just want to warn anyone who moves there or lives there to check for mold because I dont want them getting sick like us.
