Parking was probably the only good thing about this apartment and even then it was not the best. We have one assigned spot under a very sappy tree so my car had sap on it every morning.
The noise level is horrific. All I ever hear is people yelling for their kids or the kids yelling and screaming outside. There are too many kids here that are not watched. They are let loose and do not have any boundaries. Just last week, there was a child laying in the street behind my car and he would not move. He just laid there. I had to get out of my car and tell him to move because I was leaving. I have children running out in the street in front of my car every day. It is even worse in the summer because they are all home. The parents do not care. They just yell for them from the back porch.
The grounds are a show for you to believe this is a good place to live. The sprinklers are broken. The other morning I went to walk outside and there was no way for me to get to my car without getting soaked by the sprinklers. I do not like having to go to work wet because they cannot get the sprinklers to work properly which shows how incompetent the management is here. The garbage is always overflowing. I see people set the trash on the side of the cans because it is too full. I see people throw the trash in the general direction of the trash cans. The recycle bins are hidden so no way people use them like they should. When I use them, there is always trash in them because there is not enough room in the dumpster. The waste management trucks choose the worst times to pick up the trash ever. They came once at 6:00 on a Saturday morning. I can say I was anything but pleased! This is not a one time occurance either.
Safety is horrible. Since I moved in, I have had a car stolen and a car broken into. I spoke with the management about improvements and they did nothing. I wrote an e-mail to Tecton Corporation who has yet to respond to the e-mail I sent over 3 months ago. I am not holding my breath for that one. They have not put in any new lighting or security features. Nothing has been done to insure the safety at this community.
Construction is obviously old and in need of serious improvement. I can lay in my bedroom with the TV on and hear a conversation going on word for word on the first floor. (I live on the second floor.) I can hear the toilet flushing, I can hear the washer running, I can hear people walking, I can hear anything that goes on in my neighbors apartments and I don't even have to try. The dishwasher was broken when we moved in and they "jimmy-rigged" it so they would not have to replace anything. The hallway door consistantly falls off the track. There is no talk of replacement. Again, another instance of "jimmy-riggin'". The way the master bedroom is designed, the bathroom takes away a lot from the bedroom space with the bathroom being in there. The back porch is falling apart with paint chipping and very old looking.
Maintenance sucks!!! Like I said about the dishwasher and the hall closet. They don't fix it, they "jimmy-rig" it. They can't even get the sprinklers on the lawn working properly either as stated above as well.
Office Staff is horrible. I do NOT like the current manager at all. She will tell you whatever you want to hear and then she does not follow through. She is an individual that will not work for something unless there is something in it for her. She does not have sincerity in her demeanor. She is rude all the time and never has the time for her residents. I could not say enough about her. She is ruthless and a pain in the rear to deal with. I never like to speak with her, not even to pick up packages.
Overall, this community sucks!!! It is loud, old, and way too expensive for what you get. I would never recommend this apartment complex!!!! In fact, I have already convinced multiple people to choose other housing options.
