Not The Worst - Certainly Not The Best

This has not been the worst experience of my life, but in my 30 years on this earth has not been the best either. The quality of construction is shoddy at best, doors fall off the tracks & are broken. Some of the blinds don't fit the windows properly or are broken. There are stains on the carpet that don't show until the carpet is dry (they do the walk through when the carpet is "damp" so you don't see them so you will check it off as being "OK")- So when I moved out the grape juice stain that mysteriously appeared under our 350lb entertainment cener was our fault. In the year we lived there I requested MORE than once to have several things fixed and had ZERO response from the managers or maintenance people (I had plenty of empty promises - just no action). In their defense the handful of times I we had more serious maintenance issues with appliances, leaks, and or heaters etc. (anything potentially dangerous or damaging to their property) it was fixed properly the same day if not immediately. The managers are sweet and kind and act like your best friend in the whole world until after you move in and pay your first months rent. After that they barely give you the time of day and develop a very "Cold" uncaring demeanor towards you. Everyone else who already lives here experiences the same sort of thing (it was not just a phenomenon directed at me.) My family and I moved as soon as our lease was up. There are MUCH nicer properties with more down to earth management at an equal price and better ammenities in the area. The parking situation at Weatherstone is HORRIBLE - mostly because they won't enforce their own parking policy regarding vehicles having to be running and properly licensed. If you go there look around - you will see several vehicles with literally moss growing on them, some of which were here in the same spot they are now when I moved in and were still there when I moved out a year later. I had a neighbor with FIVE vehicles - THREE of which didn't run. Almost all of these vehicles (not just my neighbors, others that don't run either) are parked in the premium "free" spots closest to the buildings so those of us with more than one car had to park out in the boondocks when we come home from work at night. There are problems with theft, We had items stolen from our deck, our porch, and had someone attempted to break into my car one night (the alarm scared them off before they could take anything). There are unruly children in the neighborhood - there is a couple of nice people with a kids that I didn't mind letting our kids play with. Most of the other kids in the complex are let to run free and cause mischief with no thought or regard to anyones privacy or peace. I mean doing things like bouncing balls off peoples cars, the sides of buildings, throwing objects at passing vehicles and people, looking in windows, the list goes on. I am a very understanding person, I realize and accept that noise is part of apartment living, but the walls / floors / ceilings are paper thin and not well insulated if at all. I could hear my neighbors above/below/beside without any difficulty or even trying, and I know my neighbors could hear me when I scorned our children, had sex with my wife, or watched TV - because I could hear them talking quietly, yelling at their kids, or having sex in the middle of the night, and was able to tell what TV program they were watching or radio station they were listening to. I don't recommend these apartments, I think if they charged less for rent and replaced the management they currently have with people who have a heart AND personality then it wouldn't be too bad. For what they charge for these places - go to Silverdale - nicer, same price, better amenities - better management.
