DONT MOVE TO DES MOINES HILLS

Living at Des Moines Hills was a nightmare. It appeared to be a decent community at first glance but soon after moving there we began having a horrible MOLD problem. Despite our efforts to clean off the mold with bleach (as instructed by the manager) and opening windows and doors to ventilate the apartment we still had mold growing at an incredible rate. It began in our bathroom (above the shower and behind the toilet) but quickly began to grow to our master bedroom (about 5 feet tall!!!) We repeatedly told the staff about the problem and they just told us to clean it with bleach and they would paint over it. We even told the owner about it and he told us the same thing. Other than the mold, it is very noisy there and the staff does nothing to control that. I defiantly wouldn't recommend this property if you have children because not only is it unsafe, but there are a lot of drug users there. The building is falling apart. The walkways are filthy. I have even seen urine in them on several occasions!!! The laundry room is disgusting (people always smoke in there.) The parking is decent but occasionally other people will park in your spot and there are occasional car thefts there. The only positive thing I can say about this property is that the rent is really cheap. But overall I would NEVER recommend this place to ANYONE!!
