If you are white and/or have a serious career or education going, don't move in. Management is cool, but there isn't a management team in the world that could control these hoodlums. The section 8/obnoxious kids/jerk neighbor complaints in the other reviews are very accurate.

Paying $885 for a 2 bedroom townhouse might seem cool, until it dawns on you that 2 crackheads could be splitting that down the middle. It's tough to sleep during the week because 1 of 3 things are ALWAYS happening:

1) neighbors playing the same 50 cent song or something over and over again loud as heck. BUMP BUMP BUMPBUMPBUMP all the time.

2) if it's not the neighbors, its one of thier friends in a 1988 honda civic parked by the curb with the volume all the way up and the doors open. They just stand there for hours and yap with a car blasting music.

3) there's a rehearsal for the jerry springer show going on in the parking lot, that's right...a bunch of fat chicks and skinny dorks with their pants half hanging off their rear end yelling at each other.

Or of course, there's my personal favorite, 6 or 7 gangbanger wannabe teenagers smoking a blunt in front of your place, and you can't even walk around them because they're taking up the whole walkway. That's always a fun one.

To summarize, if you are a crackhead, dirtbag, or a welfare leech, you'll feel right at home and fit right in. To be fair, any 2 bedroom places that aren't at least a grand in rent are going to have these sorts of people in them, so Highland Village is certainly not going to be the only place like this. My advice would be if you are looking to get a 2 bedroom place, fork out the extra dough to get a nicer place, because $75 a month or so will be well worth avoiding the aggrivation of dealing with this ghetto trash.

I have known some white ghetto trash in my lifetime just so that you know. I understand your complaints because I had a friend that lived there who I could not visit because it was so bad. I witnessed some crazy stuff just in a few minutes of being on that property. But lets be fair about the people. Emenem wanabees walking around giving everybody their serious gangsta stare... oooh scary. Trailer trash chicks in the parking lot too arguing and fighting with the fat chicks and droopy pants 50 cent wannabees too. It was an equal opportunity ghetto fest.Just because someone is white and has an education/career does not mean they will be a perfect neighbor either. I had one, a registered nurse who was horrible to live next to. Loud, bad kids, garbage thrown outside her door stinking, a million cats all over, a thugged out (white) boyfriend who scared the crap out of me. Just to show you that money does not buy class and you cant judge on color either. As for Highland Village I witnessed the stuff that went on and like I said they were nice apartments inside but I could not stand going over there. I heard they "cleaned house" so maybe its better.
