Every place has its pros and cons

My husband and I have lived in one of the townhouses for a year now and for the most part we love it. I do agree with some of the other reviews of the management entering the apartment what seems to be more frequently than what is neccesary. However, everytime the entered they did notify us 48 hours in advance and did not just waltz in like the other reviews make it seem.
On the issue of safety. It is true that 14 cars have been broken into on two separate occasions in the parking garage. My husband's car was one such vehicle and fortunately he was able to recover all of is stolen belongings. Since then we both park down there not because it is safer, but more for the fact that parking in the front of the building is not always available during the weekends or evenings. I do however feel safe in my apartment.
On the issue of the rent. I feel we recieve a very fair price for the amount of space we recieve. Our rent was only raised $25 dollars for a new lease which is much less than other places we have lived.
One the issue of noise. I have lived in Des Moines my entire life so I never notice ariplane noise. I suppose the noise is loud but we are located very near to the airport and that is to be expected. These apartments are extremely quiet. I never hear noise from my neighbors around me due to the concrete walls. When I am inside my apartment I feel like I am in my very own house not next to anyone.
On the quality of the building. The building is very old. Just a couple of months ago my apartment did flood slighly under the sliding glass door due to excessive rain. It was easy to clean up and I have no problems with mold or pests.
Despite some of the bad, I do enjoy living here for the following reasons; I love how quiet it is, I love the space and layout of my home, the rent is reasonable, and the staff is always helpful towards me. Now if only they allowed dogs I might stay for some time.
