I hear obnoxious airplanes all day!

This place is so noisy! All you hear are airplanes all day and night. I complained to the Port of Seattle 7 times, but they are a joke. They sent me a standard template letter and did not address any of my concerns or questions. The windows are cheap, so you can even hear people talking outside. I even emailed the management company twice, but they did not respond. I don't understand why every other apartment in this area has energy-efficient, noise-reducing windows but this place. It should be illegal for a place to be this close to the airport without good-quality windows. I lived directly across the street from Seatac airport, and never once heard any planes because the windows were top-notch. Take my advice--don't move here! Save your sanity and move to a quieter place. I can't wait until my lease ends because I will be moving far from here!

I've lived here for over 3 years and don't share your concerns about the noise. The windows are all double paned and help cut down on noise significantly. We have the added benefit of an apartment that has the east and west facing windows. The west facing windows (nearest to airplane traffic) are in the living room and the windows upstairs are furthest from the airplanes. If we're watching a movie and the noise becomes a factor, we just shut the windows. The east side of the building is typically very quiet. It was a little surprising, especially considering the proximity to International Blvd. If you're super sensitive to sound, it's reasonable to check the sound of anywhere you're considering living, especially so near to the airport. As for us, we're planning to renew the lease again next time around.

Well, that's good for you, but I don't live on that side of the building. Even with my windows closed, which they are ALL THE TIME the planes are super obnoxious. I will not be renewing my lease, and I can't wait until it's up. The windows are super cheap and original to the place (built in 1989), and a lot of heat escapes from them. And FYI, I did check the sound when I came here. I even asked the management about it, and of course, they told me it was not a problem.
