Dear Apartment Seekers,

I have read the bad postings on this website and mostly they are all lies. I have lived at Regatta Apartments since 2006. I will admit there is a dog poo problem, but I think that management is doing everything they can to take care of this. The last newsletter we got said that if you get caught not picking up your dog's poo then you will be given a legal notice and will have to get rid of your pet. Regatta is one of very few apartments out there that allows large dogs and its unfortunate that these types of pet owners don't take responsibility and clean up. If this problem persists then I would bet that Regatta management will have to change the rules and not allow large dogs or maybe even pets at all. That would be a shame for those of us who clean up after our pet(s).

As far as the manager goes; I think she is one of the best out there. I have been a renter for over 10 years and have not been as impressed with a manager as this one. From the time I first went there until now, I have had nothing but good experiences. She is friendly and assists me without making me feel I have interrupted her. I don t think there is a situation she couldn t handle.

I have not lived at Spinnaker but I do know the manager there. She used to work in the office here at Regatta on the weekends and it got to the point that I wouldn't even go in there if she was there. She always looks like she just rolled out of bed and came to work and all around acts completely unprofessional. It seems like every time I drive by Spinnaker she is outside -------. Once time I had the unfortunate pleasure of seeing her office and it was a complete disaster zone. I doubt she could find anything in that mess.

I can't say that some of the issues with maintenance don't exist, but I do know that the manager tries her best to make sure that things are getting done.

People, don't take what you read here as truth; all you have to do is drive around each of these places and go in and speak to the managers and you will know which the best place to live.

Well that's all I have to say. I just want those of you who are looking for a good place to live in Des Moines to come and see for yourself before making a judgment.
