They should tell you about the noise...

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2004
I've lived here for over 2 years and can't wait to move out. During that time, I've had to endure the tenants above and their kids running and stomping like a herd of elephants. After complaining to the management 2 or 3 times within the first year as they suggested, the tenant actually came downstairs and verbally accosted my husband. Normal walking around could be understood, but the manager even said that they let their kids run around wild.
The walls are paper thin, and if anyone has any kind of a gathering on the weekend, you might as well go on over because you're practically there anyway. This makes it hard for students who have to study or for people who work nights and sleep during the days.
There is also an auto body shop across the parking lot, and during the summer months, the paint fumes come right into the apartments. They work until all hours of the day. My suggestion is to get an apartment that faces the grounds and not the parking lot. People are constantly honking horns for their friends to come down.
The windows are moldy and wet 12 months out of the year. The smoke alarms go off when you boil water. The tenants leave their candy wrappers and soda cans all over the buildings. One tenant even caught a tree on fire by throwing a cigarette but off of his deck.
It's not a totally awful place to live if you want cheap rent, don't mind the cardboard construction and intolerable noise from the neighbors. It makes it hard to feel friendly towards anyone else who lives in your building. The "secured" doors are frequently left open or propped open with rocks. So much for security.
The staff is nice enough, but after making repeated complaints, they might not feel like following through on more. If the tenants would take a little pride in the building and do their part to keep it clean (not leaving litter around) and be aware of the people living around them, this would be a great place.
