I stayed in this complex for a year until finding a different apartment in the area to live in. This apartment has its good features. The rent was cheap, the surrounding area was clean, and the tenants were usually quiet. However, there were downsides. The rooms are pretty cheap. They use the cheapest paint, carpet, appliances, etc. that could possibly be used. There's no trim anywhere. Everything is just really cheap. It may be subtle at first, but soon enough, you feel like you're living in a --------. My apartment was flooded for various reasons multiple times, destroying my personal items. The walls are PAPER THIN. You can hear everything in your neighbors' apartments. Ringing phones, microwaves, normal conversations, arguments, TV, chopping vegetables, kids, music, sex...you hear it all. The apartments have balconies and sliding doors, which is nice. The sliding door is necessary during summer months because the buildings get extremely hot and there is no air conditioning. You have to leave your door open all day and the apartments are unreasonably loud during the summer months. Everyone's kids are out of school and you hear them running around, screaming, and fighting with each other...all day, everyday. There's a major bus stop and adjacent parking lot in front of the apartments, which is convenient. I've rarely feared for my safety, but if you are frequently alone in the area at night, I would carry pepper spray. I've encountered some dangerous individuals while walking around the area at night. There is PLENTY of parking, and, though the lots are not lit, I've never seen any vandalism. It seems like there's police always circling our parking lots, so your car will be safe. I would only stay here if your budget absolutely required you to. Otherwise, there are better options in the immediate area. Oh, also, when you move in, they will tell you your water, sewer, and garbage will be billed and divided among all members in the community. They estimate the bill at about $38 for one occupant. What a joke. My bill for water, sewer, and garbage was more like $65 a month...on top of that, they charge you $5 to have a phone line in your apartments..."phone access fee"...RIDICULOUS!
