It's an apartment, and it's in Everett... you expected the Hilton?

As far as Everett multi-family housing goes, Avalon is a nice place. There ARE car break ins- it's Everett, get a car alarm and quit whining. What do you expect the apartment managers to do? Patrol with baseball bats??
On to more pleasant things (and my apologies for the rant). Parking is great, even for someone like me who stays out past 12. I never have to park too far away from my unit. There are also garages and assigned covered spots available, which is nice and convenient.
Just like any other apartment, you will hear noise at times, and how much you hear (obviously) depends on who is living above/beside you. But compared to the many other places I've lived, the noise at Avalon is not excessive. It's never kept me up, and I'm a light sleeper.
The apartment (exterior) is well maintained. The location is convenient, and being able to see the wetlands is nice. I'm glad for the view.
Safety is about what you would expect in Everett, but I (being a small female) have never felt particularly unsafe, even when I'm crossing the parking lot alone at 2am. I have seen security drive around, and it's nice to know that at least they're trying to do something about the car break ins. (My car that has an alarm has not been broken into, nor has my room mate's.) I'm giving it a 3 because I know things happen that aren't pleasant. I'm NOT giving it a two because it's easy to prevent these things from happening if you're smart about it.
The units themselves are bright, well layed out, spacious, clean and all in all a very pleasant place to live in. The fact that you are allowed to paint the walls (as long as you paint them back before you leave, of course) is a nice touch, and I adore the 9ft ceilings. (AND my walk in closet!)
I love the staff. They're all very nice and fun to talk to. Robert is a riot, and the gal in the office is sweet.
Overall- as long as you keep in mind that you're A) in Everett and B) living in an apartment you will be happy with living here. For someone who has lived in apartments her entire life, I sure am.

Do you still live in the apartments? I just signed a lease and now am freaked out about the crime, is it just cars that get broken into or the apartments as well?

The office told me that there arre more auto break-ins in the back complex, especially by the mall to due easy access.

I still live here, and still haven't had any issue with the break-ins. As the previous responder said, it's the back complex and those who park on the street that have the most problems. Don't freak out :) Get a car alarm and you'll be golden.

I think this is the best comment I have read on the web site. I have been rentign for years and I work in a HIlton Hotel. If you want quiet and privacy buy a house.
