Well when I moved in I got a good deal on a 2 bedroom unit - and it is pretty well laid out. The ceiling fans are nice in the bedroom and living room. Nice big porch and huge closet. They have an alarm system if you choose to use it. The location isn't bad being near the freeway, mall, grocery stores, and Mill Creek. I faced the woods/wetlands so it seemed very private. The pool and workout areas are nice and the walkway between the 2 parts of the complex is well lit and pretty. The office staff has always been very pleasant.
Here's the downside: Baseboard heat really stinks. Totally ineffective and very expensive to run. The fireplace is really too small to make a good warming fire in -so it's a cold place to live, especially if you are on the first floor. The parking situation in the back half of the complex is terrible. If you don't rent a covered space or a garage then you may as well be parking in Texas and walking home. There is some crime as far as car break ins, but they target pretty obvious vehicles - like service vans with equipment inside, or older cars with no alarm system. They charge pet rent which I think is ridiculous, $25 a month - for a cat! Plus a pet fee! Oh, and the mail for the entire complex is at the front - so you either have to drive or walk a ways to get the mail from the back. The last annoyance - the fan in the laundry closet. It's supposed to dehumidify to prevent mold, but it kind of sounds like a lawn mower and it's on an automatic timer. you can't turn it off totally, just whenever it comes on you can get up and shut it off. Super obnoxious.
If you get a good deal on rent it's worth living there for a while if you're in transition. If not, look elsewhere.
