Mold, car theft, smoke, swamp, snake-like staff

We had issues when we first moved in. Management hid a mold problem that was caused by leaking above and next door to our apartment. We had moved in the week before our wedding and returned to the mold issue after the honeymoon. We didn't even get to sleep in our apartment for one night! We were "homeless" for 3 weeks while the management tried to determine how long it would take to fix the problem. We were finally told we'd have to either break our lease and find a new place, live in their show apartment without our things for a month longer, or move to the only available unit....not the floor that we wanted.

Unfortunately, we chose to stay and move to the unit on the floor that we didn't want.

Parking is horrible! If you don't pay for covered parking, the majority of available parking is on an unlit side of the property. Most apartments don't have windows towards the parking, so it's also less supervised parking. There is public access by way of a neighborhood walking path which seems to be frequented by car-thieves. My husband's car was broken into on a Sunday night. We reported it to "security", the staff, and the Everett police. Nothing was done. The next night someone else's car was broken into. Two days later. Another car! Nothing was done...no lights, no more frequent drop-ins by security, no police visit.

When you park in the "free" parking, but live on the other side of the property, you have to walk across the lawn to get to your apartment. The lawn, however, is actually a mucky swamp when it rains...which, as you know, is frequently here in the Pacific Northwest. So, you will ruin any pair of shoe that you own...as well as track dirt onto your carpet and into your car. You very likely will ruin your pants as the mud splatters up as it suctions onto your shoe as you walk and sprays as your foot exits the slimy pit that your footfall creates.

My husband and I decided to rent under-cover parking for our daily work vehicles (My husband has a truck). My husband also has a nice sedan that he likes to drive during the weekend or when we go on dates in the evenings. It has the Matanza parking sticker in the windshield where we were told to place it. The car looks very nice and is very well kept up.

Well, about 3 months ago our previous owners sold to a company. It came with its own set of managers. They are an enormous step down from the managers that were here before.

Without any written warning or notice to any of the tenants, the new managers decided that they were going to tag towing notices on any vehicle that hadn't moved for 48 hours (sorry person who has the flu and is not going outside....your car is gone now!) My husband's sedan was tagged...EVEN though he had a Matanza parking sticker in his window!!!! Incredible! Unbelievable.

You move into a place wanting to make it your home. You trust that the management would be there to help make your experience a pleasant one as long as you follow the rules and do your part to be a good tenant. Not these people. They are vicious, cool, aloof, pompous jerks.

I talked with the apartment manager today. Next on their plan is going to be to "audit" the paid garages. They are snoopy buggers. One guy was warmed he would be kicked out of his garage because he put in shelving to store his things. He had a tool box or two in his garage with some boxes. Good grief! What are garages for!'! He was still able to park a car in their too. Ridiculous!

The parking and sidewalk lighting is horrible. Security is horrible. Repairs/maintenance is virtually non-existant.

Garbage isn't picked up often enough. Every week trash spills out of the bins and into the parking lot. Nice view when you come home from work or leave for the day's errands on the weekend. I don't want to invite my friends or family over because I'm ashamed of the ghetto that this place is.

I have never lived in an apartment as dispicable as this one. I paid less for my old apartment in Mill Creek and had better security, parking, garbage, management, etc. Also, I had the up-scale shopping centers, Mill Creek police, fine restaraunts, and a great neighborhood there. The only reason why I left was because I was getting married and we want "our" place.

My husband and I are moving out of here as soon as our lease is up. We do not recommend this place to anyone!

The property has now been under new management for 3 months. Their plan is to move everyone out of their apartment to "renovate". Their idea of renovation is to repair some drywall, paint and re-carpet the apartments. Do you think that will be worth the $3-400.00 increases in rent that you will be seeing'

Current tenants will either be evicted or given the option to move to another unit. These people don't care about your home, your life, your needs, your stresses, your time, or your quality of life. They want your money. They will deceive you. They will harrass you. They will not help you. Don't live here.

I am not usually the type of person to write long, drawn-out, negative slams against others. I am a teacher. My business is working with people and helping others. I like to collaborate and come out with a win-win situations. That is not happening here. I've talked with this new staff several times. They are not trustworthy.
