not-so-good place

not the best complex I have been in. I moved after a year. If anything was left outside your door the manager would leave notices to move it. I couldn't have a chair out the front door, on my own patio I couldn't have a Chair!
If anyone backs-in to park, a towing notice will be left on your vehicle. I don't know why. You'd think it would be so that they can see your license plate, but in Washington, you have one on the back AND one in the front. It's dumb, really. These people were worse than the base housing at harassing you about what you can't have in what place.
The size of the apartments are probably fine for one person (even though there are two bedrooms), or maybe for two college roommates who minimal belongings. However, the size is not even close to adequate for a single family of two adults and one child. There was an extra storage closet outside the front door, but to use it would cost an extra $50 or so dollars on top of the rent.

Just Look how this manager explains Everything away!!!! He has an answer for everything. It would seem impossible to get anywhere with this one if You had a disagreement about something. Hmmm... Another reason to maybe check out other options before settling down here. (haha)

How about letting me have my own personal opinion? Is that alright with this BrightonMnr, that I have my own opinion? Replacing MY opinion and experience with Your own? Very rude! You're really over-doing it here man.
That's right, I didn't enjoy living there. Yes, I have an opinion about my experience. Yes, I can dislike the place. And, Yes, I can write about the experience here so that other apartment seekers hear about My experience.
If you want to give YOUR experience, why don't You write Your Own review?!

I'm not sure why my original post was removed, but it was. I am the current Manager at Brighton Square Apartments. In response to the review and responses it should only be fair to let me explain rules that you say you don't understand and when there has been some major changes since this tenant lived here it's only fair to let me make others aware that we have seen some of the same problems and are making changes to address the situation. I have taken over as manager of this complex since this tenant lived here. Yes, the last manager was a bit zealous in handing out notices. Most of the items left outside the doors were trash. The reason for no chairs outside the front door is due to fire code that requires us to keep that area clear in case of emergency. We do allow tenants to keep chairs on their private balconies, when I took over as manager several people had chairs on their balcony. So, I don't think the previous manager was telling tenants they couldn't have chairs on their balcony, unless they were trying to put a lazy-boy or something out there. We do not allow back in parking to prevent damage to the retaining walls and/or landscaping. When each tenant moves in they sign an agreement to follow certain parking rules of which no back in parking is one of. My style of management is quite different than the last manager, yes I do enforce rules but I try to give a verbal reminder before I resort to giving actual notices.
As for size, yes these aren't the biggest apartments out there. I would consider them average size though for a 2 bedroom. They are 980 sqft. Each apartment comes with a storage closet on the patio, but we do also have 12 additional storage units that we rent out for $20 a month (not $50). As to the comment on 5/21 I don't write my own review because I feel that this should be a place for tenants to post their thoughts, but I will respond and comment as I feel necessary. Unlike some other complexes I don't pose as a tenant and write my own favorable reviews. I'm not saying that you're not entitled to your own opinion, but when a lot of things have changed since you lived here it only seems right to let me inform anyone who may look at this review. I can totally understand your frustration with the previous management. I have heard my fair share of stories from other tenants of some of the things that happened. The management company didn't like what they saw either and they decided to remove the past managers, for the benefit of the tenants and community. The management company does care about tenant concerns and is willing to make changes to correct problems.

The old manager you are refuring to definatly DID go waaaayyy over board on notes and knotices, it was pathetic, we were ready to move out at that time too but I really like living here now, I dont feel like I have to watch my back all the time and what I say who I talk to, and is there a note on our door 2 or 3 times a day.
