My boyfriend and I moved in to Huntington Park in June of 2003 because they were having fantastic deals (2months free) and we were able to get an apartment that was over 1000sqft for only around $750. The first couple of weeks were great, we had a few minor things that needed to fixed, and they took care of it, and it was pretty quiet. We didnt realize how thin the walls were until the people moved in upstairs (that apartment had previously been vacant). You can hear every move they make and they would party a lot, and management wouldnt do anything to correct that. Then those people overfilled their washing machine and it overflowed and flooded our apartment. There was water coming through the ceiling in every single room in the apartment, including the closets, ruining some of our clothing. This lasted for hours and our apartment was completely unlivable, and the management wouldnt even put us up in a hotel for the night! there was a disgusting moldy smell for days and they had these huge fans blowing through out the apartment, day and night. We missed a day of work trying to clean up the mess and all of our clothes, and they wouldnt help us with dry cleaning bill or take a day off the rent. Then the repair work was shotty at best, it barely looks as if they fixed the ceiling at all. The maintenance we found out was terrible. The door that covers the washing machine and dryer keeps falling off and we have had maintenance come to fix it 5 times!!!! It always breaks again. The floors are sloped and uneven in the kitchen. There is almost no insulation in the walls and there is barely any weather stripping in the windows, so be prepared to spend a lot of money on heating. Overall we are very dissatisfied with our experience at Huntington Park, we will never live at another Equity property again because we were actually told by the maintenance guy that Equity requires that they fix problems just until the repair "looks good" not when the repair is actually complete. They have hired a security service, but everytime I see the security vehicle, it is parked in front of the management office with the person inside reading a book, I dont think I have ever seen it on patrol. And there have been several vehicle breaks on cars that are INSIDE GARAGES. Great job on protecting the community to the security company......So basically my recommendation is this: If you want square footage at a decent cost, and you dont mind that things dont get fixed, you will be able to hear every thing your neighbors do, its will be downright freezing in the winter unless you spend a fortune on heating, the management sucks, and your car will get broken in to even though there is a security company, then Huntington Park is the place to be

We were the people above you, and I guess they told you we "overfilled" our washing machine. Wow, how did I ever do the thousands of loads prior to that in my life without "overfilling" the washer? Also, sorry for the Friday and/or Saturday night social lives we had. We sat and watched TV and ate dinner the other 5 nights a week. If it makes you feel any better, at least it was our car that was broken into in the garage while you lived there.
